Seems good so far
LiveMark Family version 1.72
I am testing porn filters for a business, and LiveMark does pretty well. I was able to get into some softer sites, but it took a little work. You can opt for filtering for children under or over 12 years old; my settings were for over 12. Apparently, if you opt for the strictest filter, you can't view news sites. LiveMark website could use some improvement, but the program itself is easy to install and use.

Typical Microsoft
Windows Defender version 1593
I suppose Defender does an adequate job of guarding against adware and spyware. However, when used with Vista OS, it is also a nuisance. The options and menus are not at all user friendly, and in typical Microsoft manner, the "help" leads to dead ends. This is partially the fault of Vista, which sees Microsoft Defender as a threat. No kidding. You can imagine the difficulty of making Defender see a safe, non-Microsoft program as safe. I recommended it only because it was free.
