Great program
avast! Home Edition version 4.7.1098
Works in the background and keeps me posted on what's going on, without interfering with my work. Has blocked virus' many times.

Surprised this isn't rated higher by others
Process Tamer version 2.05.02
I'm one of those people who only has a 2.5 gig machine with 512 ram, who wants to work at ten things at once. I play a game while waiting for the dial up to open 3 or 4 pages on Ebay, or Google, while printing out my latest software code or typing a letter. You get the message; the computer can't run all that stuff and all the little background widgets without totally bogging down. Well I must admit I was sceptically about this one. Heh! it works like a charm. I can even play music while multitasking. Seems to be stable too. Must say it's interface is not for the weak at heart, but I admit I haven't read all the help stuff yet. Sure does what it's supposed to do on my xp machine. Little expensive for my tastes, (costs time to download freeware) but I'd do it again.

A real gem, this one
FreeCommander version 2006.06
Been looking for a good file program since before computers were invented. This is it, with it's two file menu screens together it saves opening multiple programs and you can select drives and move files easily from on drive or folder to another. Great for cleaning up the mess I always seem to build. I have 3 disk drives on my machine which are divided into 10 drives. A fantastic program to manage these drives. If your computer files are always neat and tidy, or you don't have very many, then forget it, but if, like me, you can't keep your folders or drives clean then this is for you. Oh yeah, it's stable too.
