Hard to believe there is no charge!
avast! Home Edition version 4.6.691
I have been testing several free solutions (same more than once) and every time I ended wit Avast. If you get rid of the awful skins you get a nice simple interface. Installation and configuration are quite easy and they update very regular. One minor thing: scanning a whole disk needs quite a lot of time compared to others. I think you never should rely on one anti virus product and therefore I combine it with free scans now and then. It does the job very well and in my opinion its the best free choice at this moment.

Its worth every penny!
Backup4all version 2.3.4 build 760
I am using Backy4All for about two years now, and I never had any serious problem with it. I have seen and tested others and I wasted a lot of time. But this software surprised me. It has a nice interface, and most of the features make sense (no unnecessary gadgets) and really are working. Its quite effective and not very difficult to configure backups: filters works as it should, before and after actions are handy, Backup logs are detailed enough and most important, you can rely on you backups. Whenever I needed support I first of all got an answer, second it was to the point, and third the response came within an reasonable time.

Small tools can be great!
Poppy version 5.5.0
Nice little tool, just what I was looking for. Does what it says, no more, no less. Easy to install, configure and use. No glitter and glamour, but very effective.
