Very good overall but wifi users watch out

SPF Version 5.6 is almost an excellent product. It is much easier to use than Kerio but lack the kernel firewall of Kerio. The only three things I found to have problem with are: 1) The performance hit can be quite substantial for slow computers; 2) For Wi-Fi users on Windows XP SP2 if your computer needs to renew IP address, you may sometimes need to reboot the computer because your computer can no longer connect to the access point or router. 3) Fast user switching can also cause problems because the SPF pop-up sometime shows on the inactive user instead of the current one so you lost the access to the network.

Lacking advanced features

I have three computers at home and two at my lab. All use different combinations of firewalls and antivirus. Pro: It does what it supposes to do. Although Protocal-base Rule base is easier to use, it lacks the fine-grained control of application-base rule. Coexist well with Panda Antivirus. Con: Cisco VPN Client 4.0.5 does not work with version 1.4. Also, Windows XP SP2 Security Center does not inform correctly that the firewall is running.
