Search is over for goback replacement?
RollBack Rx Professional version 8.1
I just started to test this evaluation of Rollback Rx because Roxio's GoBack, which I have used for many years, is incompatible with my new Dell and gave me the dreaded BSoD. It seems simple enough to use, and the features are robust, even for home users. If the developers can get their web site back up, I just might purchase a licensed copy. Price/Value received a Fair mark from me. Although the price isn't outrageous, it's a little steep, IMO.

Fantastic!
PDF-XChange Viewer version 1.0.0021
I have dumped my "other" pdf reader software for this. Even though I do have a couple of suggestions. 1) The highlighted thumbnails in the pages tab does not show where you are when you scroll through the main document area. They do not sync with your actual location unless you click them. 2) Integration into IE so I do not have to save to file all the time.

Nice... but
Clickster version 1.40
...My only concern is copyright infringement. The author's web sight is vague as to why people can't get into trouble using his software, IMO. The software works just fine though.

Very good.
IcoFX version 1.0 Beta
A very nice application. Although there doesn't seem to be a file overwrite dialog warning. Other than that, so far, this software is a keeper! Thank you.

Very nice.
PDF-ShellTools version 1.0 build 4
What a great little shell utility! This tool provided me a fast and easy way to manipulate my archive of pdf files. Thank you. I only offer as a small suggestion to make the pop-up tool tip window stay active longer or stay open until clicked away. Regardless, this is a nice little application. Thanks again.

Nice
Screenshot Captor version 2.06.02 beta
Nice. But there's no scrolling screen capture. :-( That would make this app 10 times better.

Simplicity!
Batch Icon Extractor version 1.0
It just doesn't get any easier than this. This program works very well, and it seems to process files very fast. Thank you.

Not too pleased
Sandboxie version 2.0
The idea behind this application is a very good one but, honestly I found this program sort of klunky to use. And I really don't like applications trying to connect to remote machines every - - single - - time - - you - - run - - them. What's up with that anyway? After following the uninstall instructions, this application left dead linked shortcuts in my quick launch, and on my desktop. Maybe I'm missing something here? I used my old stand-by, GoBack, to revert my drive to a time right before this program was downloaded onto my compter. Sorry.

Sweet!
CursorUS version 1.4
It just doesn't get any simpler than this. I also have a trackball mouse and this app works just fine. I gave it an excellent rating across the board because it does exactly what it says it will do. There are no hidden surprises. Very nice. Thank you.

A must have!
ICE ECC version 1.0
This application is simply amazing. I created some .ecc files from some test source files. I used a hex editor to delete a whole lot of data from the original source files and this application restored them all! It appears as though the help file language was converted from something other than English, but it is still understandable. This application does have its limitations. Read up on Reed-Solomon codes for more info.

Deleted review?
Process Tamer version 1.03.03
my only concern is that there is only one option to set in the ApplicationOverrides.txt file. If I set a program to run HIGH, Process Tamer will also knock it back down. It seems a little bit self defeating to me if you actually WANT a certain program run at high priority. Maybe there can be an option to have multiple rules for programs in future releases?

A little confused...
WinModules version 0.0.0.2
The details of this program say: (WinModules also allows you to view and extract resources contained in the file, including cursors, icons, bitmaps, dialogs, menus and other items.) Although the program does give very detailed information, the only useful resources I've been able to get from a file are the String Tables, which can be saved to a text file. Icons and Dialogs are saved as .BMP image files. What good is that? I couldn't get the resources for any Menu items. The program crashes, I believe, if it tries to access a compressed file, for instance, with an executable compressor. Just guessing though. The program is nice, but it's really much to do about nothing.

Simply awesome!
Audacity version 1.2.3
As long as Ive know Audacity to be available on SnapFiles, I cant believe that I never took the time to give this dandy application a review. My review title says it all: Simply Awesome! I have never had one single error, crash or corrupted audio file using this application. This is the best. And its a breeze to use. My young children were recording audio and mixing sound effects within minutes.

Did not work for me.
MediaJoin version 2.0
I attempted to join 2 mp3 files. I also attempted to join 2 wav files. Both attempts failed with an error: (An error occurred while attempting to combine the current file list. Extended Error Information: Overflow). My first guess was that the mp3 files were different bit rates, and they were. So I tried the *identical wav files, both 16bit, 44 kHz audio. Overflow sounds like some sort of read buffer error. But then Im just a novice end user. Darn! I could really use a utility like this. ~ Uninstalled. (:P)

Very nice!
XYplorer version 3.60.0115
This application gives you lots of information at your finger tips. The built in hex view is really nice. Another nice feature that I noticed was the frames know when your mouse is over them and that they are supposed to scroll. Unlike Windows Explorer, I have to click somewhere in the frame first. My only suggestion is maybe some navigation buttons along the top. I instinctively went looking for the Up, Back, and Forward buttons. The keyboard arrow keys are ok, but... (:P) I do however recommend this software.

Tried to connect to ftp server
jetAudio Basic version 6.1.0
Does anyone know why, upon closing this application after a test drive, it tried to connect to jetaudio.codns.com on port 21? That's a standard ftp port. Why? When the program initiated it tried to contact its home page, www.jetaudio.com. I do like the features jetAudio offers so I do recommend it. I just don't like surprise connections like I mentioned above. My opinion is that if an application is trying to access the network, the developer should include a dialog box with an explanation. ~Uninstalled. (:P)

It works.
Resource Capture version 1.0.6
Just for fun I let this program run on the default Windows directory setting. I had icons and bitmaps in the +1,000's. LOL. I do have a couple of suggestions. #1 The program opens too low on my screen with the buttons of the app hidden behind the task bar. #2 It would be nice to be able to select individual files.

Mfc70.dll error
nBinder version 3.0.1
Immediately after installing, I received the following error: "The procedure [any] could not be located in the DLL MFC70.DLL" I'd like to rate this app appropriately because it seems like it would be fairly handy. But.... (:-P Maybe it's something that I'm missing on my end, but there were no extra files to download and no warnings about having .NET, or certain libraries installed. Sorry.

Bare bones...frumpy
Express Burn version 1.00
My original review never got posted so I'll try to do this from memory since I have uninstalled this software. This app does not allow the user to move directories around in the CD layout unless you empty each directory first. That's just insane. It even locked up on me once while trying to move data around in the layout. Only one drive, my DVDROM drive, was recognized when I tried to copy a CD to an image file. Renaming the CD label and data was kind of a chore. If your timing wasn't just so, you'd think that the renaming feature wasn't available. Sorry. But I do not recommend this software for serious users.

Excellent!
Incredi IE Manager version 1.3
This is a very nice piece of software. Its ten times better than your average pop up blocker. The only "complaint" I have is the water ripple effects on the buttons. That's sort of tacky. :-P But that's just my taste. Excellent features regardless. I particularly like the option to maximize all new windows. I highly recommend this software.

Spyware
Google Desktop version Beta 100504
Immediately following the install, during the preferences set up, this software tried to connect to pagead2.googlesyndication.com (sp?) WHY?? I rated fair for everything so that I could NOT recommend this product. I rated excellent on the cost, for obvious reasons. The interface is nice. Regardless, it runs on the loopback IP. Hijackthis picked up a bunch of unrecognized Winsock dlls after install. Ehthink Ill pass on this freeware.

Quality freeware.
SoftPerfect Personal Firewall version 1.3
Pros: - It's free! - Interface is clean, well laid out and easy to use. - Pre-set rules are dummy proof. - Comparable features to some firewall software that you actually have to pay for. Cons: - No application based rule option (Not that big of a deal, but still...) :-/ - Rules are sequntial. For instance, if you allow internet access from the pre-set rules but you want to block a specific internet I.P., the rules need to be applied in that order. Overall, I can seriously recommend this product.
