Superior program
UK Kalender version 2.1.4
The author has thought out a very flexible powerful but also easy to use calendar. It would seem to be the only one which has a respectable html export. Its free but to keep him going suggest you donate for the hard work he has put in to this project. Alistair.

Time saver
RoboForm version 6.7.1
I spend a lot of time on the web. Have my business, and web pages etc probably a bunch of 30 or so pwd. A few minor interface gripes, eg you cannot tell it to disregard a site once logged in (keeps prompting for passwords) but this will probably be sorted. Its a great utility and well worth the $40 for more than 10 passwords

Good, but
Windows Media Player version 10
Lengthy install. After install played files sound terrible so correctly suspected SRS enabled. Typical 'standard' Win features eg click on column to sort do not work in library. Library superceeds file operations, but you cannot drag a file from the library to the sync list, whereas you can delete the library entry (and file) which is annoying. Syncronise converts a file as desired to WMA (a good format) then, on the same file to same device later does not - inconsistent, but still useful. You can RIP CD to file, but it seems you cannot convert files to other formats eg MP3 to WMA unless you are syncing to an external device. For example, if you had MP3 at 256kbs and wanted to recode it to WMA file on disk this does not seem possible. Tries to access the internet even if 'Work Offline' is checked; it prompts for your file to be checked VERY BAD. Ejecting a CD, then placing a new one in the drive does not refresh properly with some music (eg Sony) disks.

Tried others; this is the best
Mozilla Firefox version 1.0
Hi. I have found IE problematic with some pages, so switched to DeepNet Explorer which was very good, but uses the same IE engine so IE problems were carried over. FF (Firefox) works very well in XP. I found there were a few features I was missing from Deepnet Explorer but then I learned that FF has 'Extensions' which are small Java plugins that can provide almost any additional feature you could wish for, with more being developed all the time. FF browses faster than IE, more features, more realiable so far. I am convinced if you give it a shot you'll be impressed too. Alistair+

Its ok
Skype version 0.98.0.68
I mainly use for cheap PC2Landline calls. Delays are 2-3 seconds on calls due to routing through the States I guess (I'm in New Zealand) eg a call NZ to NZ has a delay of 2 seconds which is a bit disarming for those not used to it. Other problem quite often the call is faulty on first attempt, but on second attempt works, so you get charged a bit extra. However, the price of calls is the best I have found and once the subject gets used to delays its usually pretty good. Alistair+

Programmers review
Deepnet Explorer version 1.2
I write software, and have been using IE for years. This program is the best thing since sliced bread IMHO. Try it - you'll be hooked.
