A simple way out of Nero
For those of us who did not have a copy of NERO shipped with the DVDRec unit it is a simple and efficient way to get your CD/DVD burned. As a matter of fact is slower (about 60%) than NERO but considering it is free...

Excellent
In addition to burning data (which I just had an opportunity to test tonight), this program did for free what my commercial cd burner software (came with the computer/cd-r drive) won't do unless I pay for an upgrade: burn an .iso file. Big thanks to Glorylogic!

No cd-text support
Very nice interface, and overall works well, but (unless I've missed something), cannot write MP3 tag data to CD text area. A show stopper for me.

Excellent program
Fast, easy to use. Uses very little resources. I have gotten rid of Roxio and its problems and bloat. Now use other programs for video and photo and use BurnAware for burning DVDs and data discs.

Not bad
Nice GUI, easy to use. My only gripe is that it was not checking checking the the maximum write speed of the disc before burning and ended up creating some coasters. Be sure to set this speed manually (not max) if you burner write speed is faster than the media is it using. I think it is by far the best free burning software on Snapfiles.

Amazingly fast.
After having too many issues with Nero and Roxio, I looked for a simple data burner. I've used freeware programs in the past so I decided to try BurnAware. First off, the interface is simple. Click, add files, burn. Simple. --- My first burn was a data folder about 4gb in size. 8 minutes to burn at 8x on my Asus DRW1608P2S. I guess you can say I'm pretty impressed with the speed. A similar freeware program did the same burn in 40 minutes. Needless to say I scrapped that one. --- My only concern about this program is there's no tab to select the 'temp' folder. My system has multiple SCSI hard drives and I use one of the drives specifically as a temp drive. --- I checked the home page and there was no option for an upgrade. Perhaps in the future. Great burner so far.
