Fast, easy to use and it works
This is a great utility for developers that highlights any differences between one text file and another. It works with any text file - XML, HTML, source files, config files. It compares not just visible characters but whitespace as well. It's much quicker and easier than SourceSafe, and so easy to use when you turn on shell integration - just select two files in Explorer, right click and choose Compare and Winmerge compares them.

Don't know how i ever worked without it!
When you've got an application on multiple servers - say, development and production - being able to move line item changes or entire files, knowing exactly what you're moving, is priceless!

Nice utility
WinMerge is a very useful and handy tool. I have used it to compare files within folders. It also has a very nice feature of copying/moving the files from one folder to another. Great developers tool!!

Great tool
Perfect for comparing any types of files. The latest version supports Unicode, which finally makes it (much) better than WinDiff in every aspect. I don't have any negative experience with this tool (BTW I don't use CVS, so I can't rate anything feature related to this)

"the" tool to merge and diff!
I use this tool quite often and from the last stable version (2.0.2) to the current experimental build, I've used almost every version. And I stuck to this last one, the recent 2.1.7.4. I used commercial concurrent as BeyondCompare, but WinMerge is just a little behind (due mainly to its less easy directory comparison interface). It's a great work that deserve great rewards. I only have two wishes: a better directory comparison interface and and integration with CVS (anyway, it's already possible to integrate it with TuroiseCVS, and both do the job, so...). Just try it!
