Long-term customer - high marks!
I've been using Trillian for a long time, and it's an excellent product. What I like most is the ability to communicate with everyone I know across a diverse array of messenger services, without having to run 7 different programs. That means my machine can run more efficient, and I can communicate more productively. If they ported Trillian to Linux, I'd ditch Pidgin in a heartbeat. I prefer Trillian's interface.

Multi IM coverage
Trillian (no ads!) covers a wide range of IM services and is easy to use and skinnable. It doesn't do webcam unless you upgrade, but when you want webcam you can always fire up one of those other adware messengers for a session. The other downside for the free version is that it doesn't merge users, so you have Fred@MSN and Fred@Yahoo showing up, not just one Fred. Oh, did I mention that there weren't any ads? :-)

What I use sometimes
I don't use messengers too often but keep trillian around for just that. This way it's easy to connect to other clients and such and have everything right where I want it. It's simple enough for the average person to do what they need to do. I use it mainly to communicate with those who need icons for their software and such and it comes in handy, faster than email and supports numerous chat clients. 5 star from me.

Still the best multi-im out there....
Trillian is still the best IM program. And the upcoming Trillian Astra will hopefully be even better. I just read some articles about it on a news page and it sounds really great. Too bad I have to stick with 3.1 until the new version is released to the public. The server-synchronized contact list and settings alone are worth the upgrade, it will be so much easier to use Trillian on both, my work and my private PC.

The best
Without a doubt the best way to use IM. Yes, it has a few flaws. Yes, you are best advised to keep the genuine clients on your machine for the things that Trillian can't do. But for multi-protocol chat it is all you need. There have been issues when changes are made to MSN or Y! systems, but there is always an update (fast and free!) to make it right again. The lack of video chat in the free version is a shame, but if that is important to you, get the pro upgrade. They guy who commented that he can't see what system people are on needs to change his skin, most skins use different icons per system! The range of skins available is amazing. I like a small, basic interface to keep my desktop clear - Trillian gives me this with all the features I use, I cannot recommend this program highly enough!

I think this program is great.
I think this program is great. Instead of having to switch programs all the time to check msg's or see whos on, it's all in one program! I love it! I have already recommended everyone I know to try this program! It's an awesome program.

Awesomeness!
Trillian is, after trying many similar programs like this, the one I've gone with for over a year. I love installing the skins (especially the deviantart skin) and being able to logon under YIM, AIM, and MSN all at once. It supports multiple accounts from each messenger (login under two YIM names at once), skinning, sounds, voice chat, and more! It takes a minute or so to load on startup, but that's alright. I wouldn't use any other one.

Great job!
I LOVE Trillian...I have friends on Yahoo!, MSN, and AOL and I was tired of having all three running at once. Trillian combined all three into one! About time someone got smart! Thanks a Trillion Trillian!!

Perfect im program
Trillian is wonderful and getting better all the time! I definitely recommend it especially if you have a lot of contacts and want to maintain the speed of your computer- downloading lots of different IM programs to keep in touch with your friends and family can be a pain! It has a lovely, light interface and changeable skins, and on the Trillian website there is also lots of plugins, I wouldn't change trillian for anything. The best thing is that it's free and doesn't give your computer spyware hassle! Try it!

Ok if you got super resources / bandwidth
I used Trillion 2.0 all the time. But with 3.0 you need plenty of ram and high speed internet to use it well. I could only connect one chat account at a time or I could not even load a web page with a dial up connection. If you have, say Windows 98, less than 500 megs ram, and a dial up connection, you would be better off using a diffrent client.

No longer top of the heap
Trillian, which used to be pretty well known in techie circles as a universal IM client, is actually a nice program, but there is a much better one, called QNext, that has all the features of Trillian, and it also offers video chat FREE, whereas Trillian wants to strangle you out of twenty five bucks for that. Why? Plus, Trillian has a few issues with some IM services, like being kicked off, not keeping buddy lists separate between services, locking up, etc., etc. It makes absolutely no sense whatsoever to pay for something you can get free, especially when the free product has more functionality. Of course, this review is for the free version of Trillian, right? Right. OK. It allows no video chat AT ALL.

Dont like it that much
It is not compatible with aims profile... you cant even click links... there is no easy tabbed browsing either... i had to get pro version just to figure out how to do it, and pro is almost no difference. the text logs are in a huge jumbled up file with no organization whatsoever. unfortunately unlike gaim it does not even allow me to organize buddys by how much i talk to them, i have to do it myself, which is a real pain. my suggestion, go with gaim

Good program, fair to use..
This is a great program but isn't all that easy to use. It has some difficulties and this program is kind of confusing. But it has GREAT features just a little confusing and hard. The confusing things are that if you use all those messengers, they are hard to keep tract of the people on your buddy list, they don't show which person is on which messenger, they all look like they are on the same messenger. Good Program in the features.

Useful for some
This is a wonderfully idea and it is well put together and superbly maintained by cerulean studios the only fault with it is with all the different companies introducing video and audio Trillian is lagging behind and their default skin and any other you can download really aren't that good. If you want to chat to people from lots of different places this really is great...if you have more buddies on one messenger service and only a few on the other services...tell your buddies to change to the same as you...everyone i know are on MSN messenger.

Best IM
This has to be THE best multi IM out there. I allows you to interact without the need to have every client installed. When Yahoo! or MSN changes their practices, these folks are on it quickly to get out the newest fix.

Really needs to be tested !!
I don't believe that this progam really had been tested for a number of flaws that I have came across. One in particular its very uncomfortabe whenever you should change an Id for any messenger id. For instant if you had an old yahoo and you want to completely change to another you gonna have a hard time removing the account at first then individually deleting the the list, this was based on my own experience. There arent' any real good interface I prefer to use the original messengers.

An idea whose time has come!
Love the concept of interoperability, and would use trillian solely if it worked better! unfortunately, it wouldn't stay logged in to yahoo...so i dumped it. sad to say, still needs some work me thinks.

Great multichat program
I've used trillian for a while, mostly for AIM. The program is great if you don't do much voice or video, you must purchase Trillian Pro for that. But, for just the general chatter, who has a MSN, Yahoo, AIM, ICQ, and IRC account, this is a great solution. Trillian is even a smaller program then any of those individually.

Trillian gets better and better
I have been using Trillian since day one and back then it was a great product. Now with all the new upates its even getting better with more features. I think when Trillian gets the voice and video options in the service that it will be the IM of choice for everyone
