Among the best
It has everything needed except 1) scripting language for advance use and 2) HTML templates (templates currently only allows plain text). Apart that it is very stable, open (many import/export for e-mails/contacts), and easily transportable (backup/restore the database is a snap). One can regret the lack of communication of its developers. Also, no cross-platform but Windows only.

Best email which can backup your emails...
I have used The Bat! for years. It is the best email program that allows for easy backup of emails, as well as multiple user accts. Easy to use, but has powerful features for advanced users. Very solid and stable. Highly recommended.

Why upgrade
After using The Bat! for around 5 years, I am ready to change. This necessary change is not based on features and functions but on RitLabs. The Bat! upgraded to V2 without adding any substantial features or modifying functions. As a fact, V1 and V2 are almost identical if you look just at e-mail message related functions. Something that bothered me: An upgrade price was required for actually nothing. Just a few month later, V3 was released because it had now a skinnable interface and different layout. Features: same as before but upgrade is being charged. RitLabs did not even bother to integrate something that allows spam filtering. Ackward third-party tools are still required. Best of all, and I didn't mention this yet, there is NO support - not even for paying customers. A DOS-based look-a-like forum created in the 90s is your only hope for help if help is needed and you will need it.

Best email client for serious email
You can do just about anything with this program. Tons a customizable templates can be created with macros. Take some time to try it out and join the bat user forum. At first it may just seem like a basic email client. Once you learn about all it can do behind the scenes you will be a bat user for sure.

As a user of the bat! for 4 years...
...need I say more. The product has masses of features, is constantly evolving, is excellent if you have multiple email accounts and/or share a PC with your family at home. Also the guys at Ritlabs are really switched on and are responsive to resolving bugs and incorporating enhancements. I think it's well worth the money for this sort of product and service.

The best email client for moment.
I use The Bat for 3 years, and for me is the best. The only problem is the interface, very simple. Doesn't mater.

The Bat v2
The Program is easy to use , has a alot of handy features , has a few little bugs/quirks , the thing that makes this program difficult is that there is no support for it , they have a support forum but even after you sign up you cant post . I like the program and will stay with it , re the comment on the graphics , the program has a sense of humor which we all can use from time to time
