Simply wonderful
This tiny little program is a fantastic time saver for your pc's startup time. I had a ton of things in my machines startup menu, and it took forever to load everything especially with an older machine. But since I took and installed this program it starts with in a blink of an eye.. Can't say enough for this little gem of a program and only 58K, highly recommend this program for anyone wanting to improve there start time and "Super Simple" to setup and configure.

A real little gem of a program!
I recently downloaded v2.8 of Startup Control Panel as I had a Startup issue I wished to resolve. Only wish I had found it sooner! While, it is an uncomplicated no 'frills' program it is very intuitive to use and does exactly what it states. A really excellent utility to confidently monitor/configure 'Startup'. A further bonus is that it doesn't actually have to be installed to function. It integrates really well with W98 and have no hesitation, whatsoever, in recommending it to other users. Make no mistake, this is a quality program that is reliable and dependable. I really appreciate and am always extremely grateful to anybody who devotes their time, effort and a great deal of commitment to developing a program and donating it as 'Freeware'. There is a 'tip' box for donations and really like this subtle, approach and any payments made via this good-humored method are surely well-deserved. Thank you Mike Lin.

Excellent little program
I use this program since the old times of Win98 and it still works fine under WinME and XP Pro. Never had any problems with it on any system. It is definitely part of my rescue/work disk. Highly recommended.

Excellent utility
Startup Control Panel is an excellent little util for gain visibility into your startup programs. It will let you move things between startup areas, disable/delete and edit items and add new items. The interface could be improved but it's better than many others.

My favorite startup manager
I have tried several different startup managers & prefer Startup Control Panel to the others tested at this time. Control of your startup programs is important for both performance & security reasons. The ability to add programs to startup is a simple & straight-forward process. While my philosophy is to keep startups to a minimum, this feature does add to the program's usefulness. The criticism regarding lack of info & edit features for system services seems unfair - the program's apparent function is to provide users info on optional changes that are not critical to Windows functionality & ease in adding or removing programs from the startup config without the need to access system areas unfamiliar to the less knowledgeable user. I recommend using a web site containing startup info/config advice - several sites are available & useful in determining what changes (if any) are needed.

A must have one
Well.. I have recommended Starter and Startup Delayer both combined to have effective control over startup of programs. But both failed to disable two of unnecessary programs starting with windows in my pc. Even after I disabled/deleted I saw those two unnecessary programs starting again in next startup. I have tried most of the other start up programs in web attack. But I find solution only with Startup Control Panel. After install, one need to go to Control Panel to access it. However as I wanted to have access often, I have moved this from control panel to a folder. Try this you will find it useful. I recommend this to all along with Starter and Startup Delayer.

GREAT PROGRAM
The person who gave the bad review has no clue. Sorry. The program works for me, and I cannot REPLICATE the errors he speaks of. Something may be wrong with his registry or his shell extension. Class .... I disagree with the other reviewer
