What are you people comlaining about?
As of this version, it will auto scan your drive in the trial version. It imports anything the files have embedded in them. Personally it would take me forever to enter everything, even with the auto scan feature, I have a lot of software :-) Even so, this product is great, it can auto backup your DB, use screen shots, and hundreds of other options that any software freak would love. I will most likely buy this one, probably so I can export to an html file and show off to my friends :-)

It's my favorite software tracking tool
Well, it does have an auto-catalog feature in the Pro version (I'm using version 3). Actually I bought it not because of this feature. I would recommend it for its robustness, flexibility (you can change screens, reports, etc. to your liking) and overall good design. It is not particularly useful if you only have a small number of software applications. But if you have lots of software you want to keep track of, look no further.

Highly recommended!!
OK, so it lacks a full auto-catalog feature, but it will let you browse to the executable of any program and it will pull all of the most relevant information for you (provided such info is included in the progam's assembly). Even without that, it's still the very best program of this type I have found yet. Perhaps the fact that I stopped looking after finding it means I have miss out on something better. Still, this is one of the few programs I have (I regularly download and test 30-40 programs a month) that has never crashed, failed to start, locked up, lost data or did anything even remotely quirky. Its customization is very deep and it has a field for just about everything one might need to track for installed software. I find the lack of automatic scanning/populating of its database to be very minor considering it's free. I have also not experienced any malware-like activity or any intrusive attempts to lure me to the paid version.

Fakeware?
After I found out that this freeware database doesn't provide me with an auto catalogue feature I immediately de-installed the program. This free version demands that you enter all relevant data of your installed software manually. Only the paid-for 'Pro' version has what a database is supposed to have. This is fakeware. It even lacks a neat UNinstall. Not recommended!

What is it?
Maybe I am daft but I assumed it would scan my PC and tell me what and where the software is? You mean I have to enter every piece of software by hand?? Hey - that is what I use notepad for!!Also too many boobytrap buttons to go to their site and buy stuff-uninstalls great though!!

I agree with the previous comment & real
I agree with the previous comment & really appreciate having this program. Keeps most anything I want/need to know about what I have installed in one place, with ability to launch it or go to company s website. The one thing I would like added is a bit better print options.
