Perfect first aid tool
Ranish is the perfect tool to carry on a USB-stick. It does everything needed for first aid. It requires some basic knowledge, but if you decide to "mess" with partitions, you better have that knowledge ;-)

Excellent
It takes a little knowledge to be able to use RPM, but it is very effective. I don't know very much about partitioning but was able to fend my way through it. There's a simulation facility which allows safe dry runs. The support email group (address in readme.txt) has good info to get you started. I don't know that data-non-destructive partitioning can be done with RPM (haven't researched that yet), but in any case this is a great tool. Also contains a much better boot manager than Windows supplies.
