...First, I am working with 1Gig of RAM, enough to support this program, but OFTEN, when I try to open it after having downloaded a program, it seems to show in Task Manager that its "Running" but the window wont show. By clicking it again it wont come up either. Trying to "close" it from the task bar doesn't work either, you have to use the task manager. Secondly, when you want to create a zip file using the "shell extension" it doesn't allow for creating a new name. It offers an existing name based on files in the folder, but wont let you create one. Other than that, it works quite well and supports many compression types. I just feel that the failure of window to appear is a bug. It never happened to me when using WinZip program.

This handles virtually every compression format you'll need. And unlike some archivers, it understands password-protected archives (including RAR), and even lets you manage a list of often-used passwords. A great app!

Excellent tools included, this program is the best that I've come across for free unzipping. I believe the current program now supports 50 extensions, and with the zip repair tool, you don't have to worry about corrupt zip files anymore! The shell extension works (regardless of the window that comes and goes.). Aside from that, it's the little things that count. Like being able to make your own self-extracting .exe. Or how about running the install after extraction. You can even install directly from the zip file with the handy little button at the top. It's definitely come a long way since it first started, and I would recommend it to anyone who even thinks of trying to use ... or ... Who needs shareware, when you have freeware?

The developer has some great ideas, like incorporating the use of your resident antiviral program (which requires knowledge of scripting parameters and therefore negates the feature...besides, it still has a bug!). The Explorer shell feature is a must for me, but again, I could not get it to work; and, I'm not a newbie, and not uncomfortable editing registry keys. I like QuickZip's potential. The utility unzips OK, but Joseph needs to finish building this otherwise well-conceived program. If somebody figures out how to actually create an archive from Win Explorer, please let me know. I just can't see the need to labor at using any software today. In the meantime, I'll use ZipGenius, which is nice. Hey, isn't SnapFiles a great site!?

I dont think UI is ugly, though it is somehow flicky, and it could indeed be improved, but its stable enough for everyday use. I like it cause its the only one i found who can create most of its supported formats from context menu. plus it has internal file view, its multi-language and of course its freeware.

The Gui is butt ugly plus you can right click on a zip file and choose to have Quickzip unzip it but it opens the programs Gui then closes it-bugs me!

At least for me, it's the best freeware archiver. why? -it's free. thanks to Alloh who creates all of these goodthings. -it's support many format archives. from zip,7z,ace,even ISO! up to 44 extensions! -the interface (icon, toolbar, menu etc) is so original and masculin. -it is quick to zip. what a simple name. -many features and customisations. -it has some useful tools. multiextract, mass renamer, repair archive, search in archive. That's it. please add your joy experience with this app. Thanks to all of programmers.
