I like this, I've been using this for a number of years without problem. The later versions have improved the tool and fixed some GUI bugs which used to cause some usability problems.

An Excellent Alternative To Adobe and it's Free... I will recommend this software to all my fellow computer friends. Couple it up with a Foxit PDF reader and you have a winner.

Version 2.0 is out on the program home page, but several Win 98 users have reported problems there. Version 1.0 definitely works on Win 98 (1st edition). I downloaded it today, installed it and it works fine with MS Word 97, Excel 97 and Outlook Express 6. I have, however, encountered a problem with a complex html page (Mozilla Firefox 1.0 is my browser) - although the PDF-printed document footer says page 1 of 2, page 2 won't show up on the PDF document. Before I installed PrimoPDF V. 1.0, I tried two similar free programs. The first one did not work with Excel 97 at all and did not properly reproduce a particular font (Comic Sans MS) of an Outlook Express message - PrimoPDF is having no problem with that font. The second competing program did not work at all (possibly as a result of my selecting insufficient setup components during the installation process). In short, PrimoPDF has produced the best results by far of the three applications I tested on Windows 98!

I have used PrimoPDF for over a year now and still find it far better than its rivals. It is particularly good in converting Publisher files without changing the text layout that many other pdf generators do. The only disappointing factor is a request to register details appears after every 30 or so prints.

This is a really wonderful program. Easy install. Easy use. Beats everything else I've tried including Adobe Acrobat because it is 10 times faster. With Adobe, you have to wait for the program to load. With PRIMO it is already loaded, apparently as a printer driver, and BAM you have your pdf to save. Wonderful. Thanks to SnapFiles for bringing this to the world.

Well worth the 10MB download. Installed easily and worked right out of the box. Printed this "review" web page, and the quality was great. Some of the graphics in the PDF were not quite identical to the original, but this is a very minor thing. One suggestion: It would be nice that an output filename be suggested, rather than the field always be blank. Perhaps the documents file title (where available) can be used (with the PDF ext).

This program worked well for me, for a while, but now it will not print an Excel workbook into one PDF file. If I have two worksheets and I select "Print entire workbook" it "prints" then opens up the print window again, splitting into two docs. I'll try to reinstall it.

Installs simple, works OK. Quality of PDF is better than other free PDF-makers: pdf is nearly identical to source. Yet rarely a character is cut off (i.e. in Excel-docs). NB: PrimoPDF ask you for registration after 3 or 4 uses.

I downloaded this and CutePDF Writer. Using comparable quality settings Primo created PDF files that were quite a bit larger than those created by CutePDF Writer. But overall, if you don't mind the increased file size, it is a very good program.

This programs strengths are that it's free and it does what it says. The only problem is its very limited in features in terms of sixing the output and accessing that is a bit trick in terms of user interface. I think the program could use some kind of front-end for users, but again, it IS free.

Highly recommended. Of 4 PDF converters I looked at, this is the only one I found that could properly render checkboxes in a PDF form - which Acrobat Reader won't save. Easy to use: just print to it. The file save dialog isn't the Windows standard file dialog and takes a bit of getting used to, but it works fine.

If you are looking for a free PDF Printer this is the best out there. Thanks to the makers of Primo for a free PDF printer with no annoying watermarks and (I'll say it again) it's free!

Best free PDF creator, no need to download anything else, no watermarks or ads, optional page size and print quality, and did I say it was free...only thing it cannot do is import pages from other PDFs.
