I used this in the past on a WinXP machine before SP2 and it installed and worked fine, and I would have given it 4*. However, it now won't install "out of the box" on a current SP2 machine as the install interferes with Windows Data Execution Prevention (DEP) introduced in SP2. There is a work around posted on the Postcast website but it is awkward to implement. You need to download other files and change Windows DEP settings, which could cause more problems, I guess... So a change is required... Incidentally, this fault also appears to affect the professional version as well as far as I could see from the forum posts.

Functionality, reliability, ease of installation - these are the words that spring to mind. This is a serious and well-designed piece of software that does precisely what it sets out to do, and does it well. What I find particularly useful is that the log confirms the receipt of your messages by the recipient's email server. I heartily recommend PostCast to anyone who needs an SMTP server.
