PicoPhone is so straightforward point to point connection without server and really need little processor power. Interface is clean, sized under 100 kb (couldnt believe it I can attach it in my email), no installation required. The software can be setup to connect through VPN (I use freeware hamachi), if you need to bypass firewall , and securing the line itself with 256 AES encryption. Good program!

This one is Winner - smaller is package, bigger is Medal. Other party can talk with you within 5 seconds after he/she starts exe first time. 3.9 seconds he/she needs to enter your IP number, 0.1 sec to find Call button and 1 second to wait for negotiation. Voice Over IP in 57kb standalone exe. I was dreaming about this peace of software. 57Kb has won my heart. And thats not all. There is no server or anything between two IP parties - just direct call to IP. Thats what has won my mind. It would be too nice like that... There is actually a reporting system embed in, connecting www.vitez.it every time the preferences are opened. It would be fair to see at least this part as open source. Or exclude it at all. It is winner anyway, 57kb, standalone, direct IP call!

After I found it, in about 1 minute I was talking with my friend. So picophone is cool because : sound quality is very good , no need to install , is very small (about 50kb - fast download , connection between IP, nick(register in 10 seconds on the site), DNS (I test this and is working to) , settings for sound quality , is working verry well on a dialup connection(3Kbytes/sec ) , is free !!!

I've used this for a while and must say that it is very useful. Direct connection, works well even on dial-up. Very small so easy to mail/send. Simple, free, works!

No servers no ads no foolishness no failures...no "what did you say? I cant hear you is that you Lois ? " Excellent program. I have used for 2 years around the world. Tiny download tiny set up .Best for person you speak with all the time.
