I just found out that the archive feature in Outlook sucks. It is possible to copy individual emails to your hard drive but it takes a long time and doesn't keep the file structure. Outport works great. It saves all your emails, contacts, tasks, etc to your HDD or storage device. Once saved you can burn them to a CD. Each email gets renamed to "message184", "message185", etc. This means you can't skim through the folder and look for a certain message. This drawback is easily overcome because the Windows search feature can easily find message for you. The program doesn't install on your computer, but is run directly from it's EXE file. You will need to place the program in your Program Files folder and create a shortcut in your Start menu. The advantage to this is that you can save and run the program directly from a USB drive. Overall, it works great even with a few minor drawbacks.

I have been having nothing but ill luck backing up, reloading, and archiving my valuable message stores. None of the ones I had tried so far worked. This one does! Export to anywhere, in rich text format (my preference) and it even saves attachments in separate identifiable folders within the outport chosen directory, by message numbers. And thank the CPU entity! Its Free! Get it, use it, enjoy it! There may be something else out there, but I haven't found it.
