After installing NetProxy I had problems with conflicts between Norton firewall and some T-online firewall/autodialer S/W which I had on my xp machine (800MHz - 256MB) which prevented the autodial & dial on demand from working, (NetProxy just ignored these conflicts and didn't work). But once I removed all that stuff it worked just fine. The DHCP server had no problem with my Apple Airport Extreme base station and apple wireless network. The XP machine has an ISDN PCI modem for internet access and is connected connected via its NIC to the WAN port on the Airport base station). Once I had set up the mac's to use the proxy server and the SMTP mail access on port 25, all worked well. Although the logging facilities of NetProxy are pretty good I installed Ethereal to analyse the traffic on the network as it is just the best tool available. I now have a dial-on-demand wireless network of MAC's with an XP internet gateway. Great!
