I don`t get it
I read pcs800's review and couldn't agree more. I just don't get it. You need plug-ins to be able to compare it to what Internet Explorer can do on it's own. I can program in JavaScript and one JavaScript I made runs in Internet Explorer as intended. Run it in Firefox and we get a different result! The JavaScript was adding two numbers but Firefox thought I was trying to piece together two string values. 1+1=11? I don't think so. I had to fix it using an algebraic way. 1-(-1)=2. That fixed it. Cool people use Firefox. Cool people follow fads and don't question them. I'm not cool. I'm questioning Firefox. Why do people think it is so much better than Internet Explorer? So what if you can use different skins? Looks don't determine how good a program is. It's the functionality. I know some looks are good but there needs to be balance. People claim Firefox loads faster than Internet Explorer. It doesn't for my computer.

Still the very best.
There is not another browser that can touch what FireFox can do.I've used this browser from it's beginnings and have always liked it.With all it's add-ons there simply isn't anything I know of that's better or even close to it. I recommend it to everyone as my number one pick in browsers.

Tired of add-on problems with updates
Tired of my addons and themes no longer working with each update. Addblock Plus quit working with v.3 of Firefox. Who wants a browser with no ad blocking? Reinstalled v.2 - Mozilla can keep their updates. Not worth the problems.

It`s getting worse
I've been using Firefox for 5 years. It was a promising browser, but the v.3 is a mess. The Boookmarks are simply awful, many extensions still don't work, the interface even on the Firefox add-ons page is a chaos. It's sad, very sad.

Bookmark manager too difficult to use
Having used Firefox 1.07 through 1.5, I recommended Firefox to everyone. Now that I tried 3.04 (2000 SP4), I no longer recommend Firefox, because I don't have a clue how to use the Bookmark Manager! In versions 1.07 through 1.5, I learned everything I need to know about Bookmark Manager in 30-40 seconds. After using version 3.04 for about a month, I have no clue how to perform basic tasks in Bookmark Manager. I Bookmarked a site, but cannot find it under Bookmark Manager. I created a folder, but when I click on 'Bookmark This Page,' I cannot put it in the Folder I created! I have no clue how to 'Move' a bookmark to somewhere else, such as another Folder. I looked in the Help File (which should NEVER be needed for tasks this basic), and there is NOTHING. Bottom Line: IE6 is 1,000,000 times better then Firefox 3.04, because there is no longer a reasonably easy way to control or work with Bookmarks. I would still recommend Firefox 1.5, but not version 3.04.

Browsing paradise
While Firefox isn't to many, a PERFECT browser, I feel it's the best out there. Pages load faster, etc... the interface and ease of use is simply better than most. It's been a stable Browser and regardless of rumors about CPU usage, I have tested it numerous times and uses no more than others and page time is faster than IE. Firefox will always be my choice as long as it remains on the road it's been on.

This is the best browser as of june, 2008!
I absolutely LOVE Firefox 3.0! I have not submitted a review for any software on this site until now, though I've used the site for quite some time. Once I downloaded 3.0, I immediately noticed an increase in speed when browsing. I also love the "Awesome Bar" feature, where you type in keywords in the address bar and as you type, you get sites which you have visited recently, are in your Bookmarks, or have been tagged with the word(s) that you are typing. With the previous version of Firefox, it seemed that when I first went online, I'd have a minute or two of very slow page loading, then it would go away. I no longer have this problem on 3.0... The interface is very clean and doesn't take up too much space. It's a winner!

Firefox 3.0 worst piece of crap i have ever seen. Tons of problems, it hangs, there's trouble with Java, YouTube videos wouldn't work well, trying to get support for the problems with the browser is unbelievable. Since i downloaded it, there are more people that commented on my thread about how terrible the browser is. Fix it fast Mozilla, or I give up on Mozilla

What`s the hype about?
Personally, I have tried this several times thinking I must be missing something really cool because everyone raves over it. I am starting to think the rave is just to spite Microsoft. This browser is bulky and uncomfortable to me. I use Avant browser, have for years, it has much better features and it's fast. When will this FAD end?

Firefox is a browser to have.
Firefox is another alternative to IE. I haven't found it to be as fast as Opera. But it's not slow either. There is a speed tweak that sometimes improves surfing speed. There are some excellent themes and add-ons for this open-source browser. It has multi-tabbing and is customisable. Firefox is definitely better than Internet Explorer or any of the IE knock-offs. Security is updated when needed. Firefox is a dependable browser and I recommend it.

Not the fastest nor the more reliable
Used Firefox for an year - versions 1.5 and 2.0 - and at the end, I ended with Opera. The most interesting thing abt Firefox, are the addons that one can integrate with the browser but had many crashes with version 2.0. Opera is faster, does not eat as much memory as Firefox does and at the end is more user friendly than Firefox. However, Firefox is a good alternative to IE...but not for Opera.

Good 2nd choice for a browser
This application leaves too many cookies in its own directory structure. They usually can be found with Spybot, but just a hassle running that all the time. Like the basic feature set and extensions, just another hassle searching for them all (like Cookie Safe, Ad Blocker, etc.) I would recommend that a average user update Microsoft IE to version 7, then download AVANT browser. AVANT has the built in features from most of Firefox extensions. Cookies can be more easily managed (deleted). AVANT Speed renders approximately 1.5 times faster than the FOX. Recommend Fox 2.0.1 over IE7 (barely), but quite a bit behind AVANT 11.0 build 43 .

Rather good browser
Mozilla has a bunch of secure features that other browsers don't possess. Mozilla's connection rate isn't as big as Opera's. And of course it doesn't possess with such convenient browsing features as Opera but it hasn't got problems with connection to particular sites. Well can recommend Mozilla for rather convenient and very secure browsing.

Good browser
Mozilla has very good secure features that any other browsers don't possess. But in browsing options Mozilla is behind Opera for sure and comparable to IE. As for connection speed Mozilla isn't the best browser in the world but not the worst. So Mozilla is very good browser that can block anything that annoys you.

Stop using IE - get Firefox!
After hearing about the many security holes in IE that Microsoft hasn't fixed, I decided to look for a new browser and found Firefox. And boy, was that worth the download! Firefox is more secure, skinnable, has many more features than IE and best of all, it's free. Each browser has it's ups and downs, and one of the downs of Firefox is that some Microsoft sites require you to use Internet Explorer 6 to access their page for some reason. Firefox has a popup blocker that is way better than the one for IE included in Service Pack 2, so I don't need to install any additional software, saving me computer space. Overall, I would definitely recommend this program. Stop Using IE - Get Firefox!

I agree somewhat but opera is still # 1
I also used both firefox and Opera. the bad default with firefox is the fact that it will not let you Cut and paste. I am into graphics pretty heavy and Firefox just does not come up to Par with Opera. One Day Everyone will Learn. IE - Well IE is really the Pits from just about day #1 !! I would Never go back to IE - version 1 through 7 or 12 for that matter and it won't be long before 12 will be here too.... If you have never used Opera then I would suggest that you give it a try. The Best of the Lot...Just as many features as Firefox and they work a lot better and themes tons of them. My two Cents worth...for what it is worth..!! flash32

Don't unless u want to lose speed and...!!!
Sorry, I am still on dialup (still the majority) believe it or not, and anyway I noticed a big speed difference between the 1.5 vs and the 1.5.01! Believe me, every step that firefox makes to make it self more stable and impervious to attacks takes resources and slows it down. I am thinking of reverting or rolling back to vs 1.0.7. Thats no joke. It was fine b4. I dont know what the hell they r doing now, but it aint working. Too much protection is just overkill. Stick with the version you got now and be HAPPY! Fast and stable. Not too mention how each version is stated to be quicker, but I beg to differ and would argue it with the developers themselves! They wouldn't go there. So I just went back to vs 1.5 and guess what? My surfing is quicker again! Love it. Go with the newest version if you want. goodluck

A great piece of software
Mozilla's Firefox features make for a smooth internet experience. The browser is simple and blocks an extremely high ratio of all pop-ups. If a vulnerability is found it is patched quite quickly. Firefox is the "Allstate-Your in good hands" of browsers and it makes a dial-up connection alot more pleasant. Extensions and themes can be applied for broadening the features and looks of Firefox. No Spyware is currently aimed at Firefox, but I feel confident going into the "malware" future with Firefox. Mozilla's Firefox browser makes the internet fun again.

I was a little skeptical, but when...
I was using IE since 1997. One year before that Netscape. I was a little skeptical about Firefox, with all the hype and praises. But when I installed it and did the first browse - the difference was right there, and this moment when click a link. It was as fast as it was when you fire up your new computer without almost nothing installed there. But when you go back it's even faster! There are of course issues with certain links that don't work. Hopefully it will be fixed. Highly recommend!

I recommend Firefox with all my heart to everybody who likes not only to surf - but also enjoy the surfing while at it ! First of all - firefox is the Safest Browser, and when it comes to safety - it's the best and safest ! Second - The initial downloading is very light and fast. After that - each user can add his own favorite extensions - according to his own demands and wishes ! Themes are also available in a large scale and variety - Just pick your choice ! All in all - I would not go back to the anachronistic IE - Ever !

Better every time
We switched from Netscape 7.1 to Firefox 1.0.4 and haven't looked back. Features aren't as hot, but as its standards compliant (and so are we), we love it. Better support for CSS than most any other, and some terrific little features that you do have to go looking for. Easy to use even for the first timer, the "Clear Private Data" and "Options..." tools are worth the download, but the advanced tab browsing is killer! Yep, its slow to load and its still got some plug-in issues (Acrobat Reader makes it skip a beat now and then), but its still better than IE7 and should get better as 1.5 and 2.0 are released. Highly recommended for anybody.

It works. it's just that simple.
Very simply, Firefox just works. Despite Internet Explorer users saying that their browser works better with some pages and Opera users saying that their browser has more features, the truth is, Firefox helps the user along only when they need it (importing settings and bookmarks, for example), but otherwise just getting out of the way and letting the user do what he/she wants or needs. It works. It's just that simple.

Firefox is, by far, the best browser out there. With its tabbed browsing, powerful user-created extensions and strong support community, Firefox has taken the web by storm for the last two years and is only gaining momentum. Definitely the best browser
Firefox is the best browser by far. Open source, and free, so you have nothing to lose by trying it. It is much more secure than IE. I haven't gotten a single spyware since switching, except for the one time that I was forced to use IE for a site. You could call that a coincidence, but I don't think it is. Security aside, it's loaded with features, including tabbed browsing, which makes reading multiple webpages much easier. If there's a feature it doesn't have, I can usually find an extension to add it. I can change the look at any time simply by selecting a different theme. It's faster than IE by default, and advanced users can tweak it even more to optimize it for their computer.

Firefox security is just as bad.
Firefox claims to be more secure than IE. I beg to differ. As more and more people use Firefox it will get attacked just as much as IE, and many patches will soon follow, as they already have. The popup blocker is very weak. At least with IE you can add a good 3rd party popup blocking program such as POPUPCOP! On the plus side the tab browsing is KOOL! Ill stick with IE.

Not a lightning fast browser
I like this browser. For a full featured speedy browser I find the IE based Cayman browser to do circles around Firefox. If your stuck on a dial-up connection for some reason or other you will find that IE and most any IE based browser is faster than this excluding Maxthon which in my tests was just as slow loading graphics. Although I'd give Maxthon a higher rating than Firefox it is very well featured and not buggy in some aspects like Firefox is. Firefox extensions are very nice but the themes I think are lame. I would still recommend this to use but is not my browser of choice. I like it better than Opra but then again thats not saying much. If you have Firefox and are a bit disappointed then give the new Cayman browser a try. I think you will switch. Cayman is very full featured and the fastest browser I have found yet. Security wise I find that if your machine is fully patched it is as secure as it's going to get with any browser.

When in rome...
Face it, the web is a Microsoft dominated part of computer technology, IE is more compatible and stable, may not be safer though, thats why I recommend Maxthon, uses the IE Engine, but doesn't contain all the IE flaws, so you have a safe, compatible, useful and stable browser that has many more features , the same ability to download plugins, and you don't have to import your bookmarks and other things. So in short, Maxthon > Firefox; however, I have heard good things about opera, so I would recommend that above Firefox as well. Maxthon (and maybe opera) > (certain other browsers including avant and slimbrowser) Firefox > (some other certain browsers that are even less popular like Mozilla) > IE > Netscape (why would someone use Netscape anyways?)

This is an OK browser for those that dislike IE. I find that the 'bookmarks' menu is buggy and needs work to make it less frustrating to use.

Great browser
Firefox is super secure and easy to use. If you are sick of acquiring Trojans just from LOOKING at certain web pages then make the switch to Firefox. Not only is it extremely secure but feature wise it blows IE away. (Tabbed browsing, RSS news feeds, password manager etc) You get the ease of use of IE with great additional features, plus the security of say, Opera, WITHOUT the steep learning curve! Highly recommended!

Why use anything else?
Mozilla Firefox is a browser that is extremely flexible and which has tons of features. The "tabbed browsing" is wonderful (though other browsers have that too). What really sets Firefox apart is the ability to customize it by downloading extensions. These extensions (mostly free) can be found at Mozilla's Web site and can add various features. I particularly like the extensions CustomizeGoogle (to improve ease of Google searches) and Forecastfox (weather forcasts appear in my browser window), but there are others that may be more useful, depending on one's preferences. Firefox is just terrific! And, importantly to some of us, it's one way to take a stand against Microsoft taking over the Web, since it's a browser which is not produced by them.

Nice browser, but i uninstalled it
Nice easy to use interface. Many like the fact that there is a ton of extensions out there. I for one, dont. I prefer to have a browser with all the features I want already included. Dont want to have to add extensions to it. I do see why people like this though. The possibilities are endless with it. I guess Im different ;). I have had nothing but problems with it so I uninstalled it. Ill continue to use my favorite browser, Opera.

Missing a category
I could rate this excellent on all four categories you have - and I still would never recommend its use to anyone. Does it work? Not in a test tube environment of pages built to an unofficial standards approval. Does it work in the real world, with real webpages, some of them many years old that are not going to ever be updated again, but still have very valuable information on them - Does it work for those pages? Not very often. Does it follow the standards as set by use? No. Does it go out of its way to be incompatible with other existing browsers? Yes.

It just plain sucks
Its better than IE but thats where the good points end. It takes 10 seconds to load up, much to long to start a program! Its got NO features and I'm not wasting my time downloading pointless extensions. Its sad that this browser has so many users, SAD! Its now rated MODERATLEY CRITICAL by Secunia for security. Whats the better browser to use? OPERA!! Its fast, flashy, and full of features. And dif I mention its the safest browser out there? Has NO unpatched advisories rated by Secunia. All the features included, even an email client without pointless extensions. And its all in a 3.7MB file, smaller than firefox WITH all of opera's features included. So tell me? Whats the better browser? Opera thats what.

Secure, safe, easy to use, easy to install
I use both Windows and Linux versions. Firefox is the best by a country mile, avoids all of the security problems of IE6. Great addon extensions available for all sorts of customisation including one called SpoofStick that helps warn phishing spoof web sites. Great Tabbed browsing. Handles downloads much better than IE6. Handling of passwords form info and cookies control is a quantum leap better than IE6. Won't work fully with about 1 per cent of websites that use non-internet standard microsoft specific extensions -- blame Bill Gates for that. Much more secure in handling of Java than IE6 and if a security hole is found it is usually plugged with in days ---- unlike another famous browser.

Can't live without the firefox
It's tab feature allows you to have one window instead of many windows. It's secure. When there is an issue, they fix it FAST! You customize it by adding "extensions". There are many. You can change how it looks by adding "themes". Built in popup blocker. All the toolbars is very customizable. It has features that I can't live without. The only drawback is that if a site targets IE and uses special feature that only IE supports, then you can't use Firefox. As a matter of fact, you can't use anything other than IE or IE clone. Be sure to try "Tab Mix" extension. It combines several very useful extension into one. Firefox is also a leader in standardization. It's also free, including those theme and extensions. Support is great. Thanks to the wonderful Open Source community. Opera is also a great browser if you don't mind those ads. For a web developer, Firefox provides more tools than all others!

Browser revolution
This is "THE" browser to use. It's a piece of mind using such a great browser. I am an IT consultant and a lot of my customers, especially ones who travel, have a problem with spyware due to lack of security in IE. This is a browser with an excellent interface and security. I love the fact that it is so customizable and has tabs for browsing. Extensions and themes also allow you to give it a personality. It shows most websites as IE would, unlike other borwsers. Great download.

Pros: Firefox is a browser i highly recommend! it is fast, secure, and easy to use. Firefox has good features like tabbed browsing, pop up blocking, high security, built in search, live bookmarks, themes, and it is only 4.7 megs. You can also download extensions to increase functionality Cons: compared to other browsers such as opera or K-Meleon firefox may seem a bit slow.

Very "hyped-up" nothing too special
It has some handy features (Password storing is one i particularly enjoyed) the program fails when it comes to deciphering the information it's given and showing it to you...it becomes slow, which is a let down. This product has a lot of hype surrounding it which i believe gives it nothing but a higher expectation to fall from. Why do we make a completely stand alone browser when we already have an Internet explorer code to improve...if you have the backbones to create something you don't try to prop a creation together on matchsticks which i found disappointing about Mozillas Firefox. I think the reviews on Snapfiles and other sites can sometimes be very unhelpful when you have the odd person whining that it didn't work on their outdated shoe-box of a PC. People need to look at their own Computers before aiming their anger on ever piece of software they own. I hope this helps.

Maturing rapidly, but i prefer maxthon.
This browser is improving quickly. Lots of nice features. Most users will probably be happy. In my case, I prefer Maxthon (uses the IE engine). Avant comes in a close second and then the rest of the pack, including Firefox. If you haven't tried Maxthon and Avant, they are worth comparing to FF. One feature that is really important to me is that all three browsers use the same Favorites, so if you add a new Favorite to one, it shows up in the other automatically. Firefox does not do this.

Excellent
This is such a well-made browser that certainly has been well thought out, suiting all the users needs. It makes internet a much more pleasurable experience rather than a painful, slow and buggy experience: it sounds like I'm exaggerating but you really won't realize how unappealing internet explorer is until you've tried this. The tabbed browsing is a great feature, and yes there IS other tabbed browsers out there but this one is my favourite having tried all of them. It makes pages load quickly, keeps your scrollbar how you want it, blocks unwanted pop ups and best of all protects you from the dreaded spyware that no matter WHAT I tried I couldn't seem to avoid in internet explorer, especially my ever changing internet home page when I loaded the browser! I thank Mozilla for this great freeware program and I hope they can continue making great products like this in the future.

The browser works really well. It was an easy transition from IE. It seems to be faster than IE, more secure, and I like that I can add or remove extensions and skins as I see fit. Firefox feels more personal than most of the programs Microsoft shoves down your throat. It's kind of cool being part of the Firefox splinter in Bill Gates side.

Goodbye IE, hello Firefox
Microslow has always been a lagger, not a leader - stole their OS concept from Apple (you know, those nifty little icons, and *color* and stuff) or we'd still be using MS-DOS (correction: we'd all be using Mac), didn't realize there was something called the Internet until way late in the game, ignored search engine development until they were booted out by Google, and now, in yet another development, are going to be slowly but surely replaced by Firefox. Serves 'em well, after all that stink they've caused by folding their crummy browser in with Windows. And all this from a guy worth a gazillion dollars, who *still* charges a mint for his OS. Sickening. RIGHT ON, FIREFOX - WELCOME TO THE BIGTIME!!

Superior browser
Firefox is simplistic and easy to use. The interface is clean and attractive. The built-in google search bar is priceless. Cookie management is fair. With Adblock, a free extension, ad-blocking is a snap. It can block flash ads or any other type of ad. You can find some pre-made block lists in the user forums that will very accurately block ads without interfering with your normal browsing. The other extensions are amazing! Just don't install too many of them ... it can lead to stability problems. Try Forecastfox, which integrates some sweet weather tabs into the toolbar. Tabbed browsing is great. Security is unparalleled. Browsing is fast. The only drawback is the limited download options. This can easily be overcome by installing FlashGot, another sweet extension that allows integration with a number of third party download managers. It works very well with LeechGet, my personal favorite free download manager. I will never go back to IE.

Better than ie, ie based browsers
Had problem with IE and IE based tabbed browser and tried Firefox and now set Firefox as my default browser. Pages are loading much faster in Firefox than as in IE or IE based tabbed browser. Firefox uses very less memory and system resource and hence the system is fast even while many pages are loading. Where as IE and IE based browser used to slow down system. While the net or site down, say during posting opinion on a site or when typing a mail, one will not loose anything with Firefox alerts. Where as one has to loose all the typed contend in IE or IE based browser. Firefox settings are simple and user friendly. Changes needed: Extensions like, Tabbroswer preferences and Tab clicking options should be included in basic setup itself. When some of the pages loading, it looks crumpled for either a fraction of second or sometimes totally. This should be rectified. Overall Firefox is highly recommended and it is, as of now, very safe to use.

I'm stuck on it
I have looked, downloaded and experimented with alternative web browsers for years. It always came down to IE (internet explorer) was just easier to use. Then comes a long this version of Mozilla Firefox. I been using it and abusing it for the last 2 weeks. I like it and I'm having no problems with it. It's simple, not clogged up with a bunch of junk and best of all the cache seems to actually work on it (works even better when you "tweak" the settings some). The "IE" icon got deleted off my desktop last week, finally. I'll be making a donation. Thanks guys.

Tried others; this is the best
Hi. I have found IE problematic with some pages, so switched to DeepNet Explorer which was very good, but uses the same IE engine so IE problems were carried over. FF (Firefox) works very well in XP. I found there were a few features I was missing from Deepnet Explorer but then I learned that FF has 'Extensions' which are small Java plugins that can provide almost any additional feature you could wish for, with more being developed all the time. FF browses faster than IE, more features, more realiable so far. I am convinced if you give it a shot you'll be impressed too. Alistair+

I have been a MyIE2/Maxthon user almost since its first release. I have toyed with Mozilla and Netscape - both too big and slow. In just 2 days, I've made Firefox my only browser. Loads quickly, more than enough options, extensions, and themes, and it's just powerful. Combine that with the security upgrade gained from IE based browsers, and you've got a keeper.

I think Firefox is the greatest browser of all time, and I have tried just about all of them. It's easy to use, secure, and has never locked up or crashed on me. Plus it has practical features Internet Explorer doesn't have like a newsreader, and tabs. The only drawback is that some sites don't display properly because they are geared to Explorer, but they are in the minority. Firefox is now the primary browser on all my machines at home, and my computer at work.

Still 2 many issues
I wrote a review already, but I was asked to wait sometime and try the software again. Well, I did just that. The package is pretty but not effective in changing my review. Updates still buggy, slow, or non-existant. The "themes" are far and few between. Out of 4 that I selected, 3 were dead links. If you like tabbed browsing, there is a LOT of other browsers out there that offer just that. Some better than others. If you are worried about the "security" issue, just get off of IE..it is as simple as that. This browser is pretty good for non-techies, but the claim that they are fast and secure....well, so is Mozilla, Avant, and others...just not IE. Don't be fooled by the great media hype. Look at this way, remember the Y2K SCARE! Believe what you hear and you ended up with crap you did not need.

I am not patient!
I don't fool with beta products and certainly not for something as important as my browser. Firefox however downloaded and installed flawlessly on my XP system. I'm hooked on the tabbed browsing as well as the rss links (excellent idea). The interface is pleasantly uncluttered and it was easy to pare it down even further to the spare double toolbar I prefer. That is not to say Firefox is plain-jane or ugly, the themes available for download installed themselves smoothly, though I do wish the download page had previews of all the themes. The extensions are also a good way to make Firefox my personal browser without the bloat and clutter that made Netscape a pain to use. There has thus far been no problems with stability and the extra security inherent in simply Not being IE is important to me as well. Bottom line: this is not some clunky off-brand software and as an intelligent non-geek I really prefer this browser far above any other product I've seen, bar none.

Any other browser does not compare!
It is extremely good, OK, there are some bugs, but they will be fixed with 1.0. And I haven't had any problems. It is extremely customizable, instead of coming with loads of useless features that take up resources you can choose what you want by getting extensions. It is fast, secure and blocks popups brilliantly. I got loads of viruses when using IE, with firefox I haven't had a problem. Definitely at least worth a try, I was trying to persuade a mate to try it for 6 months, when he finally did, I asked him and he said 'Why didn't you tell me about it earlier?!' He is now inseparable from it. This is the best thing for the Internet since it was created, sliced bread is nothing! And, as of November the 9th (Yes, the same date as Halo 2 comes out) it gets better as the new version (1.0) comes out. Give it a go, you have nothing to lose and it might surprise you!

Firefox: a new infectious disease?
They say Firefox is fast. Yes, it's quite fast but not faster than MaxThon. They say that Firefox is great because it offers tab-browsing. MaxThon offers the same. The only difference is that MaxThon tabs are much more customizable and convenient to use. Firefox takes at least TWICE as much resources as MaxThon does! And now security. During last two years that I have been using MaxThon I never had any virus infected my machine: I simply do know how to behave when you work in the internet and I also use three layers of effective security apps. The only thing I really like in Firefox is its graphical design. The bottom line: If you are not too computer savvy and need something not very convenient but simple to use, if you are not too concerned about your system resources go for Firefox. If you would like to have more options, if you know how to secure your computer using standalone apps, if you want to use sparingly your resources go for MaxThon Light.

I still prefer the latest version of the Mozilla Browser Suite. I used FireFox for a couple of weeks then went back to Mozilla 1.73 suite. When FireFox grows up/evolves I may try it again.

Very good alternative to ie & ie overlays
I was pleasantly surprised by this one. I kept hearing good things about Firefox and all the security concerns related to IE pushed me to give it a try. As it turned out, it really is a viable option - superior in many ways. I was using Maxthon (MyIE2) but stability issues were a problem. Plus, all the IE concerns are still there. Firefox has been rock-solid and noticeably faster the Maxthon. The only real negative for some people may be the need to install extensions to get worthwhile features. This may turn off some novices. (But for those who bother, there are some really useful extensions.) Also, a few unnecessary MS specific plugins are not compatible. All in all, this is very good software especially for being "pre-release". This looks like my new browser.

Mozilla firefox
Great browser! My opinion is IE 6.0 rates a 1.0, and 10.0 for Mozilla Firefox.

Good browser with some limitations
Installing was easy and straightforward. Overall, this is a nice browser. Using tabs for loading and switching webpages was fast, and I think the best feature. There is a problem when links spawn new windows though, a few open Firefox windows will quickly bog down a PC with limited memory - virtually bring it to standstill. The easiest workaround is to close the spawned window then right click the link and open it in a tab. If you have limited memory available, (example: other applications running, or only 32meg RAM), it will be sluggish compared to IExplorer.

Best ever browser
The Firefox Preview Release is a pleasure to use. Light, fast and fully-featured. Everything you could want in a browser, and then some. Ditch the bloatware and get Firefox now!

Much faster than ie6
I tried MyIE2 (Maxthon) and Avant Browser. They are too complex for my liking and dont open web pages any faster than Internet Explorer 6. Then I tried Mozilla Firefox on my Windows XP system. I dont usually install beta software but I read so many good comments that I decided to try it. It is so much faster than Internet Explorer 6 that it is worth installing just for that reason alone. It has some nice features like tabbed browsing and a built in pop up blocker. I tried several plugins (they call them extensions) and found one that I like that allows me to zoom pictures on web pages by right clicking on the picture. Ive been able to open every web page that I have tried and not had it lock up or had any other problems. I like Mozilla Firefox a lot.

Folks.....i am extremely picky.....
I am extremely extremely picky about what programs install on my pc...I have been racking my brain since 1995...to find a browser that beats IE6....folks many web-surfers are realizing that Mozilla Firefox 9 is a serious competitor to IE6...I dispize IE6...it's plagued with popups bigtime....Firefox 9 does not have that problem....open-source is a much better programing-coding method since tons of coders are working on the code around the world at the same time...this means open-source programs get to market much faster..... translated...many coders make light work... ...power to the people. Firefox rules!

Most excellent
Since most security firms agree that its UTTERLY foolish to use microsoft internet explorer droves of people are flocking to the safe harbor of firefox! Quick to load, uninfectable of spyware, block popups, optionally filter out inpade ads, and all for free. Unlike its "competition" the mozilla people regularly release updates and QUICKLY squash bugs.

Firefox is an excellent browser and is truly a breath of fresh air. I have downloaded and used just about every browser out there and this one is the best so far. I still have IE 6 just for backup

Excellent.
I've been using Firefox since about version 0.2, when it was called Phoenix, and with every release they iron out more and more bugs and compatibility issues. Now there is very little IE can do that Firefox can't. Add to that the power and customization possibilities extensions and themes ad, and you've got a winner. Great browser.

Best browser.. end of debate !
Shows what an absolute disgrace IE is. Have not found a single bug in what is supposedly beta software. It has never crashed, it blocks those poxy pop ups, you can block flash ads and even images from certain ad sites. The extensions and skins available are superb as is the forum support on their website. The add ons that keep appearing are so easy to install and the tabs make surfing so easy. Install now and tell Microsoft and IE to kiss your cheeks, but not the ones on your face.

People are still using internet explorer?!
I don't see how there's even any debate as to which browser is the best. Firefox is full of features, fully customizable, more secure, and FREE! And if you're worried about instability, be careful with extensions. Firefox itself is fine as far as I can tell, and getting better with every update. Besides, Microsoft comes out with a security update almost hourly so you're better off with Mozilla anyway. Back it up and deal with it!

The best
I usually agree with Snapfiles / Webattack's ratings for programs but in this case they are wrong. If they rate MYIE2 and AvantBrowser as 5 starts and Firefox as 4, something is wrong. I have never had a single problem out of Firefox. I would recommend this browser to anyone. So many plugins available it makes IE a sad browser to use. Check out the web developer's toolbar when you have a chance. Too many built-in features to list here. Go ahead.. try it... I dare you...

Thoroughly modern browsing
Sleek fast and full of features, you can download extensions Sleek, fast and full of features, you can download extensions that build in heaps more and you can also get funky themes to make it look how you want. Running it on Linux and Windows for the last year I havent had the stability problems other people have. Not as solid as Opera but certainly more stable then Internet Explorer. A great piece of software. Tabbed browsing makes it so much easier to have lots of windows open the ability to bookmark groups of websites so that they all open at the same time has unexpectedly been very useful. Not as fast as Opera but much faster then Internet Explorer and very speedy with application/xml+xhtml. The ability to right click on adverts and block any more from that server is great, I see my favourite sites without blinking banner adverts distracting me and eating up the screen. A real pleasure to use and definitely my browser of choice.

Yes and no! do you like bugs?
If you don't mind a little (or a lot of) instability this is a great program. It truly feels and acts like a beta; and it is. But I need stability. The extensions/plugins are the real stars here. It's an excellent interface and I think with time it's loyal fan/developer base will take this to great places. It didn't cause major problems and was easy to install and unistall which makes it easy for anyone to give it a try. If you're interested it's worth taking a look at. This was my first Mozilla meal and I was never a Netscape fan but this will outshine most browsers someday. It's just going to take time.

Browser with great potential
Firefox removes many annoyances that IE causes (pop-ups, viruses), still bringing new features (tabs) and being easy to use and easy to switch from IE.

Firefox's superiority
FireFox is by far the best browser out there, anywhere, and the best yet from the Mozilla community. Utilizes bandwidth to it's fullest potential, is absolutely pop-up proof, virtually-hacker-proof and also blocks all modern Spybots and Adware. Also, throw in the ability to customize visual themes and add various extensions, each FireFox browser is unique to the individual. Recommend Mozilla ThunderBird (E-mail client) and OpenOffice (replacement for Microsoft Office Apps).

The best browser ever!!!!
I've been using this now over a year...and to tell the truth I have forgotten all about IE... Firefox is simply the best browser out there. the best features are pop-up blocking, tabbed browsing, download manager and EXTENTIONS..these are little subprograms that you can download that add amazing functionality etc. It works great with firewalls too, as IE tends to block a lot of stuff that it erroneously thinks is unsafe...I cant tell you how awesome this browser is. Give it a try and never look back.

In my oppinion the best browser around
I've switched to this browser from IE about a year and a half ago and I don't regret it one bit. For a novice user it may seem a bit confusing at first (not too much though), but after you play with it for a while you won't want to go back. The feature list is huge, and there are tons of plug-ins (called extensions by the developers) that enhance it even further. You can install mouse gestures-based navigation (extremely useful), additional ad-blocking capabilities, menu enhancements and much more. Simply speaking - everyone should definitely try this one.

Firefox rocks
My default browser for the past year. It gets better with each release. Fast, stable, secure and a classy look. The only negative I can think of is the limited downloader, but that is easily solved with a number of downloaders that plug-in. For me this is the best.

The best out there!!!
I have tried all of the IE clones, that just sit on top of IE, but when it comes to speed, this is hands down the fastest. Simple to use, but still has all the tools you need. (tab browsing, pop-up stopper, password managerment, and more) Try it, then try the others and browse your favorite sites, once you experience the speed you won t go back.
