It's a howling wolf ;-)
Does it say 'excellent'? I guess so. Works as well on WindowsVista as on WindowsXP and WindowsWhatever.

Excellent
I've been using Lupus Rename now for almost ten minutes and just renamed a large file batch. It's powerful and very easy to use. I doubt if any other renaming utility can touch it.

Best on the market!
I can't believe I have not written a review for this software. It is the BEST rename software out there. I tried them all and this one is stands on top. If you have renaming needs like for pictures that come of cameras or reorganizing file names you "will not" be disappointed by the program. Two-Thumbs up to the programmers!!! Download a copy today and see for yourself..

One of the better ones
I tried a lot of renamers, this was the 1st that would perform a simple rename task in an intuitive way without messing up the case.

Free and feature-rich
This is the only renamer I've found that can rename based on lines in a text file and for this reason alone I would recommend it if you need that capability. The new version spruces up the interface and adds a right-click option in Windows Explorer that will bring up the program with that folder selected - that and a folder history make it very convenient. It also has all the features you'd want for automatic insert of numbers, dates, MP3, EXIF information, creation of batch files and more. Options aren't always obvious (hint: use right-click a lot) but are all there. Highly recommended.

It's elegant
It's easy-to-use and does what it claims. I'd pay at least $10 for it.

Not bad, but misses the mark
I need a renamer that is flexible enough to handle any renaming job I throw at it and easy enough to not require a tutorial (who has time?). The very first renaming task I required Lupas Rename for it failed at, truncating trailing characters based on position from the left. It almost seems to have this capability but it doesn't seem to work properly.

Lupas name
I have been using this program for over a year now. It is very good to use, although there is the need to always start from your local drive inside My Computer and the continious need to open one folder after another until you finally reach your destination. Even so if you want to start from where you left off, still you need to either work backwards or again start from your local drive in My Computer. The program should include a menu or some sort where users can either start directly from the desktop, my documents, my computer, my network places if needed be the case. Overall, the program is still my favourite and I would recommmend this to anyone.

After a great run, lupas goes tits up
I've used Lupas Rename since 1998; I lost version 3.x in a system crash with no backups, so went back to get the new 4.x version. Unfortunately, the developer couldn't just leave a great little utility alone; now, along with a tendency to GPF constantly, it has one glaring fatal defect; there is no longer any left-hand explorer pane. The pane is there; but no files will show up in it; it just stays blank, which is a real pain in the ass, since I used to use the "work on selected files only" radio button most of the time. Of course, it's kind of hard now to "work on selected files" when nothing shows up in the window to select.I used it for some emergency renaming, then just got rid of it, I was so disgusted by the destruction wrought upon this once-great little utility. Before it was freeware for which I sent a $50 donation. Now it's freeware that is not worth the price. And so another great little utility goes tits up.

Powerful and easy to use
I had used some great renaming utilities in BeOS, but this one is even better, with more features, and it's just as easy to use.
