I have been using this on a 30 day trial and have 8 days left. I am very satisfied with its overall performance, although it did go though a short spell of popping up as if to take up a download after completion of previous downloads when I wasn't requesting any new downloads at these times. Nevertheless, I might very well buy it and keep an installation copy on a re-write CD disk in case I ever have to reformat AGAIN.

Putting aside the great speed and ease it provide,i realize an even better feature it has. It is able to download from a lot of websites that claims that download manager are not supported!(It is true! When i used FDM and DE, both failed to download from those web,But IDM DID IT!) Get IDM and never be bothered by those problems..ever again!

I needed a download manager that I could schedule downloads in the early hours. Tried about half a dozen and this was by far the best. Download speeds are just awesome. Customer service is outstanding. Even when I was using the trial version the service I got was incredible. Brilliant product, excellent customer service.

Simply the best download manager out there....u have to try it to know at what speed you can download with your existing connection....it downloads using 99.99% of your bandwidth... only prob i faced is when downloading,u cant select using how many parts the download is split into.this is annoying especially when downloading from certain sites...if u try connecting using multiple threads, they will kick you out..to overcome this u have to go to options and select 1 part only...then also its annoying because u cant select the number of parts for individual items when scheduling downloads!!

I tried a lot of dw managers (reget deluxe, getright, flashget, etc). This is simply the best. A very simple interface, but very very effective. I do not understand users do not like this wonderful piece of soft! Tom

Over priced, over hyped and undersupported. Download Express is better and it's free.

This is the only download manager I really feel comfortable recommending, IF you are going to actually pay for something like this. Every time I try another, I wind up thinking, "Wow, wish I had IDM for this." or something similar. Simple fact is, of those I have tried, this is the best. It's truly fast, has good cross-browser integration and doesn't do stupid things like trying to download every JPEG graphic on a page like some others! It's stable, and prompts for comments before downloading, which really helps when you download as much as I do. Also, it starts downloading even while you're entering comments, so it saves time. Only two minor issues: One, it doesn't remember window size/position without a little effort, and two, you can't rename the saved file before downloading. Other than that, it's great...EXCEPT... It costs too much. Even for its great convenience, it is at best a fair value. Should cost half as much.

Because I have a 56K connection, I tried all sorts of download managers (4 to be exact) in order to download a 260MB file which I really wanted. All the others failed in some way or another, IDM is the only one that succeeded. I was so impressed that I actually registered and paid the fee for it. Since then, I have downloaded all sorts of freeware games which previously I couldn't because my other download managers wouldn't hold the connection long enough. Great product!

I know there are so many download managers, a user can spent a life to find the best one for his needs. I suggest IDM to people who want the right tool for the exact job, fast downloading with resume and queue management. IDM is not for people who like multi functional, skinned and bloated applications. Neither is free or even cheap. Actually Tonec asks for update fees every year. But IDM is the fastest download manager ever tried. And i tried a lot before getting it. It's not that it exceeds available bandwidth, just optimise its use far better than other big names like Getright, Flashget or Reget. I've benchtested them all, and IDM was the fastest, actually 5-10% faster than second one, using same server, file and segmentation strategy. It's low level integration really works, not only with IE but with every browser and every program than downloads files from HTTP / HTTPS / FTP. Things i don't like, user interface and silly protection counter.

I love IDM however if you install it more then 3 times on the same computer (because of a crash/ network card rename/ what ever) IDM has an internal counter. You will have to contact customer service for a new registration key. A major inconvenience to the purchased owners of the product. There are free download managers (aka FDM) that do the same thing w/o the hassles.

Have tried this product and love it for two reasons. It intuitively kicks in when you begin downloading and works with my Mozilla Firefox unlike some other products. The progress bar makes it very clear of the downloads' progress and the approximate time remaining. Plus if it gets interrupted for some reason (on dialup this happens frequently)it continues where you left off. Once I had to reset my computer, or it locked up on me and I was pleased to see once I got back up and on line my download continued smoothly. Some downloads which won't you can just use the programs excellent resume features to carry on. In addition it is probably the fastest one I have seen yet. For beginners it is great. just download and forget it. Waiting for this product to hit my local computer store shelf so I can buy full version.

The Internet Download Manager, notwithstanding its unassuming name, is a fantastic and reliable download manager with many features not found in other such programs. One really feels "protected" when downloading files, because it gently warns you when problems threaten to occur. Strongly recommended!
