Good for small flat networks
I ran a packet trace of this program. It appears to use SMB protocol and broadcast to the local subnet. The packets are small enough, about 225 bytes each. If you have a relatively small network this shouldn't be an issue. But if you start getting a large number of users it may contribute to network latency.

this is good
Very good little program. Setup is a breeze and auto-detect works really well. It even has emoticons! The only downfall with this program is that the file transfer capabilities are very limited (really really slow), but hopefully this will be addressed in future versions. Aside from that the program is excellent.
