This tool is awesome. Its a real time saver. When your victim of some nasty program changing the res of your desktop allot of times your icons will get all messed up. UGH! Who wants that?. This is like a Drill Sargent Telling the Icons to Straighten up!

Love the right click on the desktop icons. sweetness. i have used this little DLL in the windows directory for years on windows machines. first box i put it on was a w98 box and i just take the little DLL with me everywhere. should be default in windows, it's not, too bad. but thanks to the T-man, who needs Redmond to fulfill the needs of pc users essentials, eh? aye!

Great time saver and I would pay for one that had an icon to simply click to restore. It would also be nice to have multiple icon configurations saved for various needs and screen resolution, say home and work. Great product.

What a find. I searched a number of sites for a program that would accomplish this task. All found were expensive and provided additional features that were of no interest to me. leave it to SnapFiles to have the answer!

A bit clumsy but essential

It has a small glitch, sometimes you have to use it twice or three times in a row to restore all the icons. But anyway, I cannot live anymore without this little thingie, I would recommend this to everyone.

I can't praise Tim Taylor highly enough for coming up with this magic little treat. I am a website graphics designer, and I change my desktop resolution fairly frequently. It's a nightmare (and a big job, I might add) re-positioning all my icons. I use them on a daily basis, and I need them to be organized. I have so many icons on my desktop ... you might consider them the actual wallpaper ... get the picture :-( Then recently, after installing a program and ignoring one user's opinion, about how it caused all the icons on their desktop to scramble ... I found it did just that. I re-organized them several times ... spent the better part of a whole day doing it. Then I hopped on over to my SnapFiles to see if I could find something to solve this problem. And, what do ya know ... I come across this little beauty ... problem solved :-) I agree with other users though ... it deserves it's own little icon and I'm willing to make space for it.

I downloaded this little utility and was blown away with it's performance. If you get your desktop layout destroyed this little small utility will bring all your icons back to the right location. The ease of use and it's great ability to do what it says makes it a super (left click utility for the desktop). Don't know why you would ever want to uninstall it. Get it, you will love it!

After installing this beauty i saved desktop layout, and change view from 1024x 768 to 800x600 and of course all the icons where rearanged, i click on my computer once again and restored layout and all were immediately restored to where they were, and the bird and bees were chirping! this is totally worth the download.. lol i didn't really need an uninstaller because i dont think i'd uninstall it!

The other day, Windows XP reset my desktop icons - all 68 of them - and I wasted a lot of valuable time repositioning them. I needed a simple, unobtrusive utility that would enable me to save the current desktop layout, and restore it with ease - and this is exactly what Icon Restore does. Heartily recommended to anyone with more than a dozen icons on their desktop.
