Classy
The best editor I have seen yet. Lightweight, simple, options where you need them, no bloat. No baloney. Does what its supposed to do and does it well. A fine addition to the programmer's toolkit. Could do with an update though.

Very disappointing
This software is unable to open large files (I tried several files around 500-600 Mb). And it was a pain in the neck to kill the frozen process. Definitely not useful.

Great viewing and exporting features
I was looking for a hex editor to view communication log files captured with HyperTerminal. HyperTerminal generates ascii files, but the files include many non-printable non-displayable characters. Hexplorer displays ascii file in hex format. However, what I really want to do is save the file as ascii hex, so I can easily edit it with any ascii editor. Hexplorer provides a plethora of file export options. The export option at the top of the list is ascii hex. Once I export the ascii file as ascii hex, I can now view the file with any ascii editor. Viewing the ascii hex file with a standard ascii editor shows the exact same output as viewing the original ascii file with Hexplorer. Now I can format this ascii hex file to separate all of the communication commands, line by line. This tool would work equally well with binary files. It's great to be able to print out a hex listing of any file.
