Nice little program
This is a nice little program and comes in handy as well for knowing the temp of your hd at a glance. But does not work on all hard drives.

Does not work
Where as it does give the temperature of certain hardrives, it is a pain to use. Everytime you restart your computer it ask you to register - even after you have registered. The company is either out of business or does not respond to emails.

Great program
This program is the best temperature-only S.M.A.R.T. monitoring program i've came across. Its free, and even though its mandatory registration, its still free. It simple, small, and easy to use. My laptop has a 3 second spin down timer on the harddisk which you cannot turn off in the bios so setting the temperature read to 8 seconds keeps it from spinning down. Best of all, its quiet, and you can disable all the temperature warnings if you have to!

Handy little utility
If you're solely interested in monitoring your HD's temperature, this program does the trick. Clean, intuitive interface with useful (and customizable) audio warnings when the temperature reaches a certain point. There are other programs which do the same and also offer additional statistics (which is why I only gave the 'features' rating a 'good') - but for a temp-only tool, this program is great. The mandatory free registration is annoying, but aside from that - I've no complaints.

No smart monitoring??
Yeah, the auto shutdown option in case of overheat is swell, but why doesn't it monitor other SMART parameters? ... Oh, and enough with the mandatory freeware registrations already!

This is a essential program...
This is a essential program to have . The number 1 reason for Hard Drive failure out side of a virus is over heating of the hard drive. It has a nice interface and you can set different audio alerts as well....(mine is a WW2 air raid siren ) plus if my wife is on the computer she does not keep the speakers on often so I customized a BMP to pop up to tell her to shut the computer off cause its hot and if she dosent it will shut off for her... ha ha *this is a essential application for lap tops due to poor air flow in such a small box .......ok SKIPPY....OUT..

Must-have utility
Pros: Easy to configure & tailor settings suited for your PC, shutdown feature protects against damage to CPU, easy on resources (~240 kb memory), visual & audio warnings. Recommend config as startup. Con: Difficult to configure for multiple profiles. Summary: Would include in any top ten freeware utility - peace of mind for this user who experienced a fan failure. I especially recommend this utility for all notebook users.

Very elegant
Having tried about 6 disk temperature monitors (some with SMART), this is now my favorite. It is deceptively simple, but gives you two user-selectable temperature thresholds which can issue a warning and/or put the PC into hibernation or shutdown. Surprisingly, both worked on my Win2k/XP PCs. And the memory usage is very small. The only problem is that the registration code will not enter unless the proper Program ID is used. And a different Program ID is provided for each separate PC, AND EACH ACCOUNT. I run in a limited User account, but the program requires Administrator rights, so I use the RunAs Administrator command. However, the program ID is different when using the RunAs Administrator command as when logging in as Administrator. This seems like excessive security for a program that is given away for free anyway. But once registered, it works great. The taskbar temperature icon is attractive too.

Great hd utility
A great utility for monitoring drive temps. Handles multiple drives and allows you execute command line orders or automatically shut down the PC if a critical temp is reached. I wish it displayed other SMART data as well, but with an overhead of only 232K, I guess I can't complain. The free registration process has not worked for me, so I get a nag screen every time my PC starts up.
