It's got some bugs, it crashes sometimes, but I love this feed reader. I wish it didn't use the IE engine.......I've tried other readers but always come back to GreatNews..

This RSS feed reader is a full-featured application in a surprisingly small package. It has a clean and usable interface, works quickly, and is a pleasure to use. A nice job by the developer.

I really don't know much about feed readers, so I like GreatNews: It automatically does whatever needs to be done, without demanding my interference. GreatNews is portable - no installation whatsoever - so I can carry the reader with me on an USB stick, plug it into any connected computer I happen to run across and read my newspapers. The fact that GreatNews is multi-language with support even for my little "mother tongue" Swedish adds to it's virtues. Nice!

Maybe not the prettiest interface but so intuitive and not a memory hog. Runs fast, experienced some crashes (hey with about 800 current feeds...).

It's the best feed-reader. No one comes close to it. Just download it without thinking for another moment. It doesn't even need that .NET !!!

I've tried just about every feed reader that I could get my hands on. I used Snarfer for about 3 months and thought it was a very good program. Then I found Great News which puts Snarfer to shame.

I have tried probably 10 to 12 RSS readers and this one has been more stable and friendly than the rest so far. I have been using it for about 2 months with all the default feeds (accept the chinese blog one, what's up with that?) and about 20 of my own added feeds. One particular feed liked to get screwed up with some other readers but looks fine with this one. I particularly like the different views you are able to select, newspaper is my favorite though. Definitely grab this one while it's still free.

For the last 3 years, I've tried every stand alone RSS reader and think this is the best I've used so far. The watches are excellent and I like the ability to mark items as read. Channel newspaper has lots of options. Ability to tag items for later retrieval is also great. There are things that could be better. For example, while you can modify the stylesheets, no XML so you can't get *exactly* what you'd like, but what is there is pretty good. Developer responds to posts on his board.

GreatNews has everything one might expect from a feed reader, and so cleverly put together it's hardly believable the whole resumes to 1Mb as compared to 3 times more quite often elsewhere. When we discover a software we often wonder "OK, but... is this other feature implemented?" Well, it is! "I'm sure they haven't thought about that other point..." Well, they have! The authors have programmed this little beauty with the end user in mind: it is definitely smart, like you and me!

This one does it all, folks - for free! It doesn't hog your system resources and gives you all of the options and settings you could ever want. Even if you really don't understand all of the hoopla about RSS, this program will enable you to keep a check on your favorite sites simply by copying the feed URL and pasting it into the GreatNews program. And GreatNews will even FIND the feed for you, if you so choose. Do give this program a try!

Best RSS reader I've tried - the interface is simple but does just about everything you could need.
