Everything is great, but...
I'm not going to say amazing thing only about Folder Lock 5.8.2 because most people already said it and it DEFINITELY an amazing software! The thing that I want this great software to be FIX in the next version is, the compatibility issued between Folder Lock's hidden driver (windrvNT.sys) with Perfectdisk 2008 Pro (ver 9) which is another great software for disk defragmentation. My PC auto-restarted twice with system error report when both software installed together and when I was running disk defragmentation with Perfectdisk 2008. After some research on internet, I found that this problem never been solved since last version of FL with version 8 of PD. So, I need to decide which software to 'stay'. I uninstalled Folder Lock 5 judging from which was more important to my PC. I hope the developer will fix this serious issue and then I definitely will install it again!

Simply the best encryption utility
No other software tops Folder Lock if you're serious about protecting your data. Two encryption methods available: Browse folders and add them to a list and they will be completely (and instantly!) hidden, or drag-drop data to a "Locker" folder and they will be invisible even in Windows' safe mode and DOS. The developers' custom service is top-notch. I just downloaded the trial version and had some questions (I was unsure about how to use the program and was afraid of losing some important documents). Sent an e-mail to NewSoftwares.net and they sent back an extremely thorough reply in less than 48 hours! Needless to say, that gesture was enough to convince me of buying the full version.

Great tool and easy to use
For stuff you want kept private you cant go pass this program and yes in Australia dollars it cost a little more but worth it, just make sure you know your password and i use it at work for law enforcement files that i work on at home as some photos are not for the public showing.

Works 100%
Folder Lock is easy to use. It does everything that it says it does. I have tried a few other types of programs and this one wins every time, just don't forget your password.Ttotally awsome. The only thing I don't like would be the price! $35.00 US dollars to buy - $43.28 in Australian dollars to buy. Just a bit too high for my liking.

A strategy I couldn't live with.
In my world a document important enough to encrypt is important enough to backup, and yet the place these files go when locked cannot be backed up (per author). He suggested the solution was to back up an uncrypted set that wouldn't be Locked up. Hmmm, a security strategy that makes me keep copies of my documents out in the open as its way of addressing backing up. When I spoke with them they didn't feel this dichotomy (or conflict in objectives) was a problem, so they offered no plans to resolve it. IMHO they need to realize the brokenness in this strategy before they can begin to work on a fix, and they offered no plans for revisiting strategy...

The best
The latest version is just perfect because it is bug free and possesses new useful features. Folder Lock is the best encryption software created so far. I'm delighted with its new features, simplicity and reliability. The newest feature I liked most is the "SD card encryption" feature. So along with proper anti-virus, firewall and backup software folder Lock is highly recommended for pc protection.

Don't misspell your password!
I have been using Folder Lock for about six months now. I have tried numerous encryption tools and have found that Folder Lock is the only one that works on any Windows platform. This feature makes it ideal for using on a USB drive. The program is also very easy to use and has an attractive interface. However, there is one feature that I don't like. Folder Lock has a function called "Hacker Attempts" which logs incorrect passwords. The most recent release of Folder Lock, as of this posting, allows the user to disable this function. But if the function is not disabled it will log all of your incorrectly spelled passwords. They are stored in plain text in the Windows registry. Having said that, I still think that Folder Lock is a good program.

Conflicts with other very popular programs!
At first Folder Lock appears to be a fantastic program with a great interface and ease of use. Tech support responds within 24 hrs to routine questions. Things that you find later are that your supposedly hidden, encrypted file names and location are visible after few defrags with one of the most popular defrag programs under, "Most Heavily Fragmented Folders"! Next if you are running the #1 spyware program your scan times in my case went from under 30 minutes to over 5 hours! If you remove Folder Lock the times revert to under 30 minutes and after you reinstall it the times again go to over 5 hours! In my opinion that clearly indicates Folder Lock is the culprit. That fantastic tech support suddenly ceases to exist and never mind their guarantee of a response in 24 hours. The never do respond! To bad such a seemingly excellent product that promises such excellent tech support withers and blows away when there is a real problem.

Great tool, wonderful support
The software is a must buy. Even better is the support. Twice, I've lost access after a hard drive crash, and twice I've been able to restore the software, and all the files in the locker, thanks to the support team.

Excellent, but ...
Everything has been done for secrecy: encryption *and" transparency. I have a slight regret, not for the *availability* of encrypting and hiding, but for the *obligation* to have the main "safe" folder hidden if encrypted. I would wish to be able to encrypt alone first, in order to backup the encrypted folder on another support, and then only hide the given folder. What I have to do - in my case - is to create another "Folder Lock" folder on second hard disk, copy content from folder 1 to folder 2, then encrypt and hide both. Rather cumbersome. Besides this, nothing to say, or rather this: excellent: efficient, fast, aesthetic.

It does what it claims and very easily
This is a great program. I use AXCrypt to send encrypted documents over the internet but nevertheless, when these documents are sitting in my computer anyone can see that they are encrypted - and well encrypted, as AXCrypt works flawlessly - but it shows as encrypted files. Folder Lock on the other hand, can effectively "hide and encrypt" complete folders , nice and easy. Its a must have program for anyone concerned with their privacy and sensitive documents, on any shared computer or network. It offers also an easy way to encrypt to removable media.Very nice program, with lifetime upgrades.
