I have a 1.8 Celeron machine with cable, and I'd used another Firefox optimizer before. However, the speed improvement from Firetune was immediate, 30% or more. Plus, it was a snap to install and use. I'm a happy camper.

This worked magic for me. I un-installed the latest version of FasterFox, which did nothing to improve the speed of my web browsing and probably made it slower since up-dating Firefox to version 1.5.0.6. It was slow to access sites, and pages would load painfully slow at most times. My dial-up connection speed varies between 32Kbps to 48Kbps. After installing FireTune 1.1.2 and very simply configuring it, I found it hard to believe that the time to access sites and fully load pages was at least four times as fast, on average. Congratulations for developing this brilliant "tweaker" and having it available as freeware. I would have paid for it, after this test run. Absolutely BRILLIANT. Surfing for me will now be a pleasure, rather than a pain. I now do not have to worry about the expense of going to broadband. THANKYOU.

I have cable, 2Ghz Athlon 64, and Firefox 1.5 is usually still slow. I tried other speeder-upper software but had mixed results and the notorious server-dropping problems. FireTune is not nearly as fast as other Firefox-tweakers, but is, in my experience, much more stable, reliable and simple to implement. The only "problem" is the lack of nostalgia--no more top-to-bottom loading of placer boxes! All in all, a decent and effective tool.

If you have a good configuration running on your machine (MTU), numbers of downloaded files at the same time and every tips we heard about for years of internet use and dsl use, this soft doest nuts, nothing. No differences between before and after, running tests on different specialized sites and tools. A good gadget if you want to increase your internet speed ... in your dreams...

It doesn't get much simpler than this I downloaded Firetune, backed up my previous configuration, matched system settings and applied tweaks it was that simple. I use Firefox for all my browsing and for the last week Firefox has seen a drastic improvement in performance. Works great for me! I highly recommend this application.

I have a broadband connection and use both Firefox standard and Portable Firefox. I have manually tuned both versions of the browser and this program is a timesaver. I did not notice any slowdowns or speedups over my manual tweaks, which is what I expected.

I use FireFox and I've got a reasonably hot Internet connection, so this item looked like just the ticket for a "voracious" browser. I followed all instructions to the letter. And my speed did change: with these tweak settings FireFox slowed-down! Surely I must be doing something wrong, so I uninstalled EVERYTHING. Started from scratch, followed the instructions to the letter and the results were the same. A third and fourth try yielded consistently slower load times (per the prescribed test) than stock FireFox settings. My advice: AVOID.

FireTune really speeds up Firefox, both on XP and Win98 platforms and both on fast and slow computers. Although you can speed up FireFox manually by adapting hidden settings (by typing about:config in the address bar), the use of FireTune is much more convenient. Highly recommended.

It did work, but not as much as I hoped. It still did not change the opening of FireFox, but the overall surfing, seem to be a bit quicker.

This program does work. I have DSL, and it definitely did speed up Firefox by at least 50 %, I'd say. Works for fast and slow computers as well as connections. So try it !
