If you need a firewall, a firewall you get
I told my friend I had a chinese firewall, and his reaction was "I wouldn't trust the Chinese, for their government or anything". Well, I consider it more like his problem. I've tested the program with, as far as I know, all test programs like Shields Up!, and they all show I'm stealth on the Internet. The sign of a good firewall is that you can't really see or hear anything. If it works, everything works. In fact, I liked it much enough as to install Filseclabs' Twister Antivirus. It works well too, inside Zips and Rars as well, and I have even cleaned viruses / trojans out of them, yet keeping the program installable, and functional. The program is light, easy and logical to maneuver. The only problem is the Chinese English. They could improve that part. But all in all, they sure seem to have something to contribute with.

The best amongst rest? i believe it!
While I have been trying may be every firewall in the market, commercial, shareware and freeware, I have been in an out of Filseclab Personal Firewall (fpf). At the same time I gather as much information as I could not only on fpf, but on every firewall I test it, as well. The interface, is nice and easy to work with. The features and excellent and compete with rest face to face. It is easy to learn and fun to apply, in comparison to the list of firewalls I tried I found it to be superior, thus, I decided to keep it above the other, including several I paid for. I recommended to anyone, and if you have keep it and learn it, take from me you have the one firewall you need.

Appearances and a name can be deceptive
Having assessed numerous 'Firewalls', I downloaded and installed v.3.0 of Filseclab onto my PC, almost as a last resort. However, I was most pleasantly surprised. It integrated extremely well with W98, not creating any conflicts with my AV program, OE6 or any other software on my PC, as some other firewalls had. In light of my recent experiences I was surprised how easily 'Filseclab' could be configured and [for me] how straightforward it is. Plenty of data available and easily accessible. Very 'User Friendly'. The icon in System Tray monitoring traffic is very visible, with audio, also, available to indicate 'blocked traffic'. The program is developed in China and some of the English in 'Help' is unorthodox but easily understood. Yes, I really like this program and recommend it to others and am indebted to the developers for making it available as genuine 'Freeware'. A more than capable and competently executed program.

Works well
Have been using as my secondary firewall in conjunction with Jetico. This is a program that requires the user to have interaction. For myself this is one of the advantages to it. Despite what advertising/others say nothing that requires little if any interaction is necessarily superior. I've been hacked and had ZoneAlarm beaten.

If you look at this carefully
For blocking the port scan, sygate do it well. To block the leakage, I believe sygate leaks, because there is no way a firewall without a spyware scan can survive. Filseclab is not as good as it looks in the test. It is just a little better than window xp firewall, and maybe as good as zonealarm free. It seems that comodo personal firewall is a good free firewall now. The jetico looks good, but never learn something even in learning mode.

Actually not so bad
First of all i want to say, that there is a newer version available on the developers website than what you see here on snapfiles.com. It also is freeware. The thing with the asterisks i don't understand either, but with me that was only automatically set for a few programs from the start. I was able to delete these entries. Most new entries are "normal" then. You should read the help file though, even if it is not very good. You can set a generalized rule for all "System"-files. You can also set the program to let pass all Microsoft-certified programs automatically, but you can also UNcheck that option. The programers are located in China. I like it, because it is "real" freeware, not only for personal use, but for all use. What i do not like so much is the fact that the program itself wants to use the internet, even with at least two program-parts.

Great program
This is an excellent firewall, a little odd at first to setup. But once it learns, it works great. However I suggest you visit their site and get the latest version 3.0, it is free also.

Filseclabs firewall
Filseclabs firewall does some things well. It didn't bog down my computer. For a fairly new firewall it is stable. It wasn't real easy for me to figure out the rules. There isn't much info on connections and I got an * instead of application names on many connections making it hard to figure out what was attempting a connection. I went back to Kerio 2.1.5 and I found that firewall more informational(regarding applications and connections) and easier to configure.

Refreshing change from usual free firewall ap
Highly recommended! The interface may need some time adjusting to, but the application provides just an easy enough interface for an amateur user to get by while providing detailed rule settings & port configurations to satisfy an advanced user. Beats other free firewall software like Zone Alarm, Sygate & Kerio in terms of features and customizability.
