A handy little program that does what it says on the tin. Yes, you can do it manually (show extensions etc) but why not just use this app and right click to change the extension? A great little time saver.

I just LOVE this program. It took only a few seconds to change 23,000 files. Saved me hours of work trying to find a text string using a program that doesn't handle non-text files very well. TIP: if you have a file folder containing thousands of files and hundreds of other folders, and you need all the extensions to be TXT, and a lot of the files already are TXT, first have Extension Changer change everything to some obscure extension, then change everything again to TXT. I'm not sure why, but EC always asks you to confirm changing something to the same extension, and doesn't have a "cancel" option.

I downloaded about 1,000 files and saw that they didn't have an extension at all. I knew that it would take hours of renaming for me to fix this problem. So I search the web and found this and did it all in about 30 secs. Now all the files work as they should. Awesome.

All this utility does is change file extensions, quickly and easily. It does not do anything weird to your computer. So, if you need to change some extensions, here's a nice, small, simple, free--and safe!--utility to use.

OK click and drag your file in then type the file u want to change it to...PRESTO done...i love this saved me a lot of time and i know it will come in handy in the future

I have got to work with *.abc type files edit it and renaming it to *.xyz files. I feel until editing *.abc file is ok but after that opening save as dialog box, renaming the extension, pressing enter, again confirming the prompt and all very bored stuff for me. Decided to find a solution and came to webattack. Got extension changer. It changes extension for hundreds of files in a minute. Now after changing extension I open the file to just do editing. I can work without any boring and all even any number of files at a time now. A tiny program as if developed for my needs. Recommended.
