The absolute best xp repair utility
Ive been using this tool for years, and have installed it on 20+ systems. It has saved me many a reinstall due to malware... problems which could not be cleaned by other means. It actually replaces a win98/ME utility scanreg which I have also used many times. I carry it with me on a flash drive to be installed at whim. Install it and forget it SOMEDAY you WILL need it and wonder how you ever did without it. Thanks to Lars Hederer for this contribution to the pc geek community. I cannot say enough about this little freeware lifesaver.

You can`t do better
For registry backup, you won't do any better than erunt, been using it for a long time and it will always stay on my pc. If the registry ever gets botched, do a simple reg restore and it's all taken care of. One of the greatest utilities out there ppl, no joke. I suggest every pc owner get one. It's so easy to use too, easy to understand, no prob!

More than reliable!
ERUNT settles it for me. This is so simple to use and definitely a MUST HAVE for all computers. Another nice point, is during the install process, you can select to auto backup the registry every time you load Windows (in case you forget to do it manually). Now that's reliable! Restore is so simple as well, go to the backup folder and select which date to restore from. Click on the exe file in that folder and presto! it's done. Truly a life-saver.

Fantastic
I wish I could uninstall XP System Recovery and never be tempted again to run it. ERUNT is the answer! As long as you feel comfortable using windows explorer and rummaging through a few folders, this program is fool proof! Lars Hederer should receive an award for the creation of this life saver utility.

Awesome, cant be without it
Quickly (in seconds) makes complete backups of registry for easy restoration and comes with NTRegOpt that optimizes the registry, actually made my computer more reliable. I've heard thats its better than system restore, and similar tools. it's worth keeping backups with it but hopefully wont need to use it..

The very best in its category
ERUNT (both NT Registry Optimizer and Erunt Registry Backup) is the best, because accurate, complete, easy to use. 1-Clean Registry (RegSupreme, another very complimentary software), 2-Optimize registry (NT Registry Optimizer), 3-Backup Registry (Erunt Registry Backup) is a fantastic trio. I had used up to now WinRescue, also very good, but slower and less complete. Also, I had had Registry compacting problems with either WinRescue or other softwares, when Kaspersky Antivirus was running (I had to quit Kaspersky Antivirus first) : not with ERUNT Registry Optimizer, though it is longer if the antivirus is running. I think every category has its leaders, and ERUNT is definitely the best here.

A nice safety utility
By using the auto backup feature each start one is ensured of a registry to go back to after editing/cleaning and then finding things don't work anymore. Well worth the download for the peace of mind.

If only!
I unfortunately did not have this software installed on a customer machine and it cause me to reload the stupid computer. if only, i had this installed (like on my own machines) it would have saved me hours of reloading. this is a great tool for any admin. the windows registry can crash at anytime and the recovery console just might not be able to fix it. this program solved that problem.

Saved me from regseeker!
I've used RegSeeker for registry cleanup. after doing this all my perl scripts associations didn't work other programs say 'reinstall need'. fortunately I've used ERUNT (ERU for Winows NT) to previous backup the repository and could restore it! Thank you ERUNT!

Solid, free solution for registry backup
Huh? Restoring could not be easier. Open the ERUNT readme.txt file, and look for the section titled "Restoring the registry with ERDNT". Each restore folder contains its own copy of the restore utility (ERDNT.EXE), which makes each backup self-contained. I've used ERUNT for years, and restored with it many times, and it hasn't let me down yet.

Good, but what about restore...
It is good to do the backup and all that.. However, when it comes to restore, you may have to go read around and go by how to do it.........

This program is free and top notch !
This is a great piece of software that backs up the registry and etc. I have it installed on my WinXP box and I'm glad I do. It does it's job well and works as it should. Not hard to figure out, just install and follow the prompts. Not for Win95,98 or ME. A "must have" program. Works so good I'm surprised it's free. Grab it .. A keeper.

It's a good prep for xp service pack 2
I always use "ERUNT" and "NTRegOpt" to prep for XP-SP2. In my opinion, these utilities reduce the chances for Registry glitches to cause problems for an SP2 install, especially if the PC has had malware removed (Registry glitches in conjunction with SP2 can be a pain-in-the-butt -- or so says the Voice of Experience).

Best registry backup/recover.
Easy to use, always works, and the backed-up files go where you can find them. Most important, you can restore a registry without having to boot the OS you saved it from, because the backup knows which registry it came from. A DOS boot, Recovery Console, or Windows boot from another partition, floppy or CD will let you restore a broken registry. It's already saved me some serious pain!

Turn off system restore
This is the ideal replacement for the the bloated and resource hogging system restore feature in Windows. And Erunt always works. It also works with xp service pack 2. Fast and so easy.
