All of the features you ever wanted
This is a program that YOU have to grow into because it is so versatile. If you learn its more advanced features you will have increased your own skills. I like that.

Have to give it a good rating
I struggled as I like PSPad editor and honestly, still like it better than this. HOWEVER, it's not all too far off from it, and some ways, a bit better. I have to give this a 5, if you are looking for a powerful editor, this is it. It's easy to understand, no running issues, and an all around kick but text editor. I noticed there are a lot of undo edo's and wonder if there is even a limit... THAT is a plus. Does just about anything others do, yet it's not a large app by any means. I do like Crimson Editor for HTML better than PSPad, or even opening simple text files. So I do highly recommend this.

A valuable file editor.
I have downloaded and tried most of the various file editors from Snapfiles and after doing a comparison between them I found Crimson Editor to have the best interface and features that a programmer or casual user would want. The designer really got this program right.

A top-notch code editor
This is a fast editor with great features for developing and testing code (I use it for Java, Javascript, and C++). For ease-of-use and quick setup, Crimson Editor is hard to beat.

Great for searching variables...
It's great for filtered text searches, especially when you have to wade through hundreds of files. I've use it frequently use to look for variables and classes in nuke/portal systems.

Perfect for html
I use this program to hand code html. It is not my only editor and does not have the greatest spell checker, however when making global changes to my site this is what I use. Example: You want to change one word of phrase that appears on many pages. Open all of them in the tabbed program, copy the wrong info open the search and replace and go from page to page, saves lots of time.

After three years, it's still my favorite
As the title says, I've been using Crimson for three years now, and don't have a bad thing to say about it. It's a relatively small download, and has every feature you'll ever need in a text editor. Because the syntax files are easily edited, you can have highlighting set up for a particular language exactly how you'd like it. Some of the advanced functions take some time to learn, so someone moving straight from Notepad to Crimson may be overwhelmed by every little setting s/he can configure. Definitely worth a look-see if you're in the market for a new programmer's editor.

Nice application
Recently, I have begun learning C++ and tried several different text editors. Of them, I like Crimson Editor the best. True, while not as feature extensive as some of the other editors I've tried, it certainly has everything I need to do what I need to do. More importantly for me, Crimson editor is smallest, fastest and least resource hungry of those I tried. What really draws me to Crimson Editor is the simplicity of its user interface. I'm not overwhelmed with a dozen different toolbars when I start the program. I think the menu items are very well planned out and I can always find the options I want quickly and conveniently. Also, I find customizing the syntax highlighting to be very easy and the configurable user tools very useful.

Great notepad replacement
I tried many different text editors before settling on this one and I am not disappointed. This is one of the first pieces of software that I install on all of my computers. It is fast and handles very large text documents with ease. Check it out, you won't be disappointed.
