This comment concerns version V3.xxx of Counter Spy. I am a Counter Spy user since V2 - for almost 2 years - and let me tell you that this is the best antispyware product I have ever used. And version 3 is even a better bet, as it is even more simple to understand and configure and computer resources are even less used by the program. I can tell you that on a regular basis, V2 used +/- 50 mb of ram and V3 barely touchs the 25 mb mark. Impressive gain. In terms of protection, well...my computer is clean since day 1 of CounterSpy. And for the price, CounterSpy is the best bet we can make. Never had a problem with CounterSpy instalation and even during instalation of V3, the setup warned that some of CounterSpy functionalities would not be turned on, in order to not conflict with my Avira anti-virus, which is already protecting the read/write function of each file. Great piece of software

Excellent program.. removed several key loggers from my system. Great features.. has active protection and right now mine is set on "Paranoid" :P, several cool system tools like letting you see and modify the programs that startup automatically, and your current running processes, a secure file eraser and a lot more. I would recommend this program to everyone who has a pc.

Counter Spy may sound to be a new program, but for those that did not know, this is the original Counter Spy when they started out as GIANT then later became Microsoft Anti Spyware/Firewall. Well, Counter Spy does anything the expensive program do, except it's cheaper and can locate COOKIES and other Malware the expensive ones don't and though I just purchased another renamed Anti Spyware, Counter Spy tops them all and receives an EXCELLENT Rating. Check out the new Sunbelt KERIO Firewall.

Those reporting problems with CS probably need to clean up their registry, and if using a firewall set it to "play nice" with CS. I have used CS almost from its debut and it has not caused ANY problems or conflicts with software or hardware -- and I use many state-of-the-art applications. Their customer support is outstanding, so tell them if you have a conflict and they will fix it. Many problems with software are caused by old registry entries that no longer exist or old software drivers. CS is the best spyware app now in existence.

After spending four evenings working on disinfecting a friends computer I downloaded Counter Spy. This product is awesome. Counter Spy is highly effective and very fast. Counter Spy removed all traces of the new VX2 type spyware (like winfixer), and it removed spyware and spyware traces other popular free anti-spy products missed. For the more technical user, Counter Spy also has a full set of system-level utilities that go way beyond what you get in any other product I have used up to now. I highly recommend that you try this one first and save yourself a lot of time! Those guys at Sunbelt Software know what they are doing.
