I use Clippy every day. Just love the efficiency: ctrl-C to copy, another shortcut, ctrl-V to paste and that's it. I use it to remove double-spaces, linebreaks and non-standard characters at once when copying the title of articles (pdf) to rename the files. Otherwise, just copying and pasting only paste the first line and characters like ';' and ':' need to be removed by hand to make an acceptable file name in Windows. It was just a pain before coming across Clippy. However, I wish the authors did add a function to insert some characters (like quotes for example) for even more productivity. Unfortunately, the program hasn't been updated since 2002... and I never found any true equivalent. It is close to perfection though!

I have used Clippy for years now and it has served me well. I leave it at the default setting as all I want it to do is clean up emails and reformat the text. Works fine!! thanks.

Clippy is my weapon of choice to strip unwanted content from email, data fields, word docs, and other text. Saves me tons of time in routine copy-and-paste and formatting chores. Highly recommended!

I use Clippy when forwarding e-mail to reformat line lengths and get rid of ">" carat quotes. Great for that. It works on its pre-defined set of operations, but I wasn't able to define my own substitutions.
