The final version will be in the very far future. It`s not good anti-virus program, many viruses, Trojan horses are not recognized !

One thing I like about this scanner is it's a stand alone app- like virus programs used to be. No services installed, no 'update' service, scanner service, virus db service all eating up memory when it never had to. For this reason, this app was a good find for me and think it's scanning from high cpu use mentioned by the others- some of that is expected on a full not realtime scanning, this didn't put me off. Speed seems relevant to number of files to me- the good old days of 5,000 file file systems and FPROT-DOS 2 minute scans are pretty much over. This app scans network drives and keeps an up to date definition with web download- this one is worth having out of the two you should have to start. sc

My superior recommends me to use this Open source anti virus.. because it's free.. *duh* The good : Simple to use, thorough scan, detects extra viruses The bad : Very very slow scanning, scheduled scanning takes out my dual 3G Pentium processor to the MAX! 60-90% both cpu usage. Conclusion : I'm back to this free software page to search for another FREE anti virus *duh*

I have been trying this out for about a week now, and almost every night it says it found a single virus in a different file each time. It has not noticed these files having viruses on the previous nights and these are not new files. Also, it reports a virus in the inbox of an email client (Thunderbird) that has NO MESSAGES in it. By the way, AVG and Housecall report no viruses every day. I hesitate to rate the program yet - for obvious reasons.
