I have been using CesarFTP for several years and was pleased by its ease of use and small overhead. However, in recent months I have been plagued with DNS attacks which exploit a flaw in the code which causes CesarFTP to go into a 100% CPU loop. I found the problem has been written up by several security analysts. While not a huge security exposure, it has become an annoyance. The problem only exists with anonymous logins and the program does perform well with secured logins. Unfortunately, all emails to the program owner go unanswered with the last one getting bounced back because the inbox was over its limit. I have given the product a decent rating only because it does work well with secured access. But I cannot say that I would recommend it given the availability of other free FTP Servers.

This program is very easy to use. It's probably not the best pick for a professional FTP server but if you are looking for something easy to setup and use for simple remote file access I would highly recommend it. The help file leaves much to be desired but it doesn't matter because even the most basic computer users should find no need to use it. On my Windows XP Pro machine I found it used very little system resources and always loads on startup without a glitch either as a service or not.

This Program has Major Problems. It is set up very good with Great Features. The Help files leaves a lot to be desired. Really are No Help at all. Will Not disconnect even if all your connection attempts Fails. I had to Re-Boot my computer before I could uninstall it. Don't waste your time downloading this program.

Does not work correctly when running as service on Win 2k3. Also doesn't always release connections. Author doesn't respond to emails
