Using Vista Home and the latest Celestia(1.60), I couldn't get it to run and kept getting a "side by side comparison check failed" message. Although Celestia 1.5.1 has worked fine since installation about a year ago. Either way, I'd recommend it for everyone interested in the universe.

This program provides a virtual, correctly scaled solar system on your computer. To say it's amazing is far short of the reality! Please give it a try so that it will keep being developed.

Awesome but a little buggy

A great educational program with a lot of interesting features. On the con side, I'd say its interface is not real intuitive and, on my system at least, it crashes a lot, sometimes forcing a reboot. Overall, though, this is one to keep an eye on.

Man is this thing cool! After I installed it I could not get away from it. Incredible software that acts like a camera in outer space; see everything from evry angle!! Thanks for making this free!!!!!! SNAPFILES RULES!!!

I ve been surfing the universe with Celestia for the past couple of years, and I have not yet found an equivalent simulator. I am continually dumbstruck about what it can do. Anybody who has even a slight interest in our solar system, our galaxy, or beyond will find this software remarkable.
