Must have other codecs
This is a great program. I've used CDEX up to this point and had a disk that it wouldn't rip. AudioGrabber did it. I use the lame and flac codecs, and just pointed it at them, and it had preconfigured settings for them. All I had to do was tweak them to get what I wanted. Easy to use, works great, but you have to get external codecs. I like lame for mp3, Ogg Vorbis and FLAC, all are easy to find and work well with AudioGrabber.

One complaint
The only complaint I have about this one is that it seems to have been abandoned. No update since 2004? FreeDB is in trouble right now, what will the author do if it goes down?

Beware: uninstaller doesn't work, bitrate low
1) The uninstaller routine doesn't work on my Windows XP computer (uses old 16-bit installer). 2) Program defaults to Windows Media (WMA) format, if you switch to MP3 AudioGrabber uses the Windows XP built-in Fraunhofer codec - you are stuck with 56-kbit bitrate and your MP3s will sound horrible! If you want MP3s either get a different codec or a different CD ripper! If you want WMAs, just use Media Player. Either way, don't bother with AudioGrabber.

The best
I have tried all the top free ones, and they all said invalid file format on a certain CD I have. I put the CD in, and Audiograbber, grabbed it, and done its job. I cant believe it is free!!

Audiograbber! yes!
I downloaded audiograbber and was very suprised,it looked like the old audiocatalyst 2.1 I used to use. I really love AC but I can't get it to work with my win2k pro (scsi) system. I installed audiograbber and it worked great......it was like old times again, same interface as audiocatalyst ..........I'm a happy camper again......quality is great, ease of use is outstanding....I give it a 2 thumbs up!!

I scored again
This was a nice find. Thank you Snapfiles - wouldn't of found it without you. Easy to use. Simple. Lite-weight. FREE. Time to uninstall this old program I had - that I PAID for. AudioGrabber is much better.

Best ripper!
I have been using audioripper together with LAME to rip all my Faye Wong's collections with amazingly simple steps: 1) Insert CD, 2) Customize your MP3 settings, 3) Click the cute penguin for track information via FREEDB, 4) and Grab!

Shareware now freeware
Very intelligent step to go freeware with all the competition out there. I remember using this a long time ago and can now use it again, I actuall stoped using musicmatch to rip since I reinstalled this. Very stable but is lacking in some features.

It worked for me
Been looking for something that I can really use to sort my cd's out to mp3 for transport listening, this is the one. Tried loads of other 'popular' programs, this is so easy except for the pop up lame.. screen that I can't get rid of? any ideas! I'm happy. Top marks.

Always been great, now it's free!
I just used this a little while ago to rip my favorite tracks from two of my CDs and then used RecordNow to burn them to a disc. Audiograbber ripped 7 tracks straight to .mp3 so quickly I couldn't believe it. Excellent program.

Excellent ripper
This is the 4th ripper I have downloaded tonight. The Best by far. Installed perfectly. Had the features I was looking for, how to store the tracks, ie Artist, Album etc. Select between CD Rom or Burner to Rip from. Fastest yet. Good interface & ripper window. And it's FREE.
