There are a number of other utilities like Windows Search. Some of them are a real hog on your system... Not with Archivarius. I have used it for many years already and more to come. It runs very well and my indexes work excellent. I have indexed many files including network shares. It also can run on a server and you can buy licenses to let users search for strings. This is nice for business users like myself. One little note that I had with my version is that it does not automatically schedule index updates. It has to be done manually. But at least I am in control when it happens because indexing takes a lot of system resources. For a product at this price level it worth the small investment. But don't try to go overboard with system drives with hundreds of gigabytes of office documents. It is not written for that and you have to split it into multiple indexes. If it contains pictures etceteras then no problem. But it is possible. ;-)

This is the only program I have found that will do what it does for only $29! It will index my Pocomail email, and all standard documents and search for text. It is stable and unbelievably fast. A real bargain!!!
