Yep, this is notepad on steroids. I did find the interface a bit tedious along with the features a bit twitchy. Instead of allowing to type text anywhere next to the inserted picture, you have to go into the object properties and adjust to -11 or so to get the text to be at the top. There is an align bottom or mid but no top??? Yeah, that kind of threw me. Any way, it's over all a very quick and very handy note pad type to have, even beats word pad to a pulp as far as I'm concerned. Even though rough around the edges, it's excellent and can allow you to quickly create a nice doc with pics. This would be a newspaper's writer's dream. And yeah, it's light, not like other full blown editors and office softwares so I do think that once some issues get worked out, it will be top notch and even now I recommend it and won't get rid of this one!

This is a really sweet little editor -- small, fast, portable, and easy to use. It has all the features you need for most documents, including tables (unlike Notepad) and web links. It's not intended to be an html editor, but it saves to html flawlessly, and does a pretty good job of opening html files created by other applications. This program is well worth checking out. Note that the current version (3.1) has eliminated all of the bugs reported by another review on this page.

I just installed this and am quite happy with the clean interface and the speed with which it opens my RTF file for editing. Lots of useful features; opens my txt, HTML and RTF files nicely. I think this a good Notepad replacement.

I am still searching for the perfect text editor. Each of the ones offered has perhaps one or two good points which may meet a particular need. Angel Writer presents itself well, but loses me on several counts. Though it says it saves in HTML, when you try to open an HTML file it only offers you .rtf and .txt files to open. You can write out the file name, but this is no help if youre using the open feature to find a file. I also saved a test .html file and then tried to open it and found a blank page. Another poor feature is it doesnt open files dropped into its interface. All in all I would say this is project that needs a lot of work to be worthy of consideration.
