organize your windows on multiple desktops WindowsPager enables you to organize your cluttered desktop in up to four virtual desktops that you can easily switch between from the system tray. Instead of constantly minimizing and maximizing windows to switch between them, you can neatly arrange them on their own (virtual) desktop and then switch between work environments with the click of your mouse. WindowsPager also supports moving windows from one virtual desktop to another by right-clicking on the title bar or dragging the window between desktops from the mini-review in the taskbar (see screenshot). The mini-previews are a handy feature that lets you keep an eye on where your applications are running. They show a miniature desktop overview with application icons and window positions for each of your desktops, making it easy to manage them or to move windows between them. Other features include support for "sticky" windows (will be shown on all desktops), keyboard commands to move windows and an option to keep windows on top of all others. Portable, no installation. As the title says, it's better than Desktops. The options are a bit more, holding down the mouse for a short time and dragging applications into the next window is good. It didn't take very long to find out how to edit the windows in the Windowspager config file, fairly simple really. I do want to note, you need to exit and restart it for the changes to take effect. It is very basic for the most part yet has decent capabilities and if this is all someone needs, it's perfect. I suggest using this over others if you don't want a full blown virtual desktop environment. showShow review details

I've tried several other virtual desktop programs but they messed up my desktop icons and changed the wallpaper and eventually were deleted, but WindowsPager is so simple, looks nice in the tray and best of all, it works without making changes to the desktop. It works perfect on my XP desktop and my EEEPC Win 7 laptop. The number of virtual desktops is easily configured and has a good help page. I've tried so many "multi desktop" applications, including the one that comes with ATI cards; none every stayed part of my system. Frankly most were just more then one really needs for a production comp. This one is simple, complete, and truly usable without a single hassle. Easy "drop and drag" right from the taskbar was key to my satisfaction. Thanks for your time to make this program available to the public. . . a worthy achievement. showShow review details
