DVD ripping and video conversion VidCoder is a DVD/Blu-ray ripping and video conversion tool that uses the HandBrake encoding engine. The program can rip most DVDs and Blu-ray discs (as long as they are not copy protected) and convert the video to a variety of popular formats including MP4, MKV containers, H.264 encoding, MPEG-4, MPEG-2 and Theora video. It offers several presets along with an intuitive interface that makes it easy to customize the encoding settings. You can convert movies directly from the disc or you can load a previously saved video file or ISO image. VidCoder includes a handy preview features that allows you to test your settings by encoding a small clip from the video without the need to process the entire movie. Eh, it's alright for ripping to the posted formats, however, it does tend to say there were errors quite often (non-protected disks) and is a bit slow at the couple I did rip. If I use a DVD ripping software I use freebies that have most of what I need. As stated by others, alright for converting but that's about it. show Review details

I am pretty satisfied with VidCoder. It does pretty much what it says. However, there are only 2 output conversion types which are MP4 and MKV if you're converting ISO file (DVD image). It's recommended if you're looking for an ISO to MP4 conversion tool. show Review details
