customizable tray launcher Tray Commander is a customizable launcher, that lets you run frequently used programs and system commands directly from the tray. It runs as a single icon in the system tray which, that offers a menu with your custom commands. You can define 3 different menus, one will pop-up when you right-click, a different one when you left-click and yet another one on middle-click. Each of the menus can be loaded with your entries, using an easy to use interface. Tray Commander also includes many preset options like open and close your CD drives, reboot, shutdown, screen capture, launch screensaver, send email and quick access to video modes. Each of the available action can also assigned a hotkey, so you can launch them from your keyboard directly.

Not only is this a perfect little shortcut organizer, but all the other functions that it allows, like clearing history, cookies, etc. all by just clicking the shortcut within the menu. Customizable to the max, with things like text pastes (which beats the crap out of others I have tried and reviewed), I purchased this and have used it every day since. It is now part of my windows installation and probably always will be. Unless I am forced into using that pile of junk called vista, and it won't allow TC to run or something vista-ish like that. showShow review details

Tray Commander is an excellent product and does exactly what it's made for: start programs as easy as possible. I've tried them all, but this one doesn't focus on fancy stuff that you seldom need; it's to the point. Left click on the icon and you have all the directories, files, commands or programs you need, but you can also make an extra menu with a right click on that same button. 3 things can be improved: - I takes too long to start if you make it an auto start program. - The screen that pops up when you want to add a new command doesn't have the entries organized alphabetically. - Not an easy way to backup your settings, other then backing up the complete directory.
