network IP calculator WildPackets IP Subnet Calculator is a utility for computing information about IP addresses. Given an IP class A, B or C address, several pieces of information can be displayed about that address by selecting one of four tabs: the Address Info, Subnet Info, Subnet/Hosts or CIDR tab. The Address Info Tab displays the class of address and range of addresses for that class, a color-coded bit map for that class of address, the binary representation of that address, and the hexadecimal representation of the address. The Subnet Info Tab allows you to enter subnet information in five different ways: by number of subnet bits, number of total mask bits, number of subnets, number of hosts, or just the subnet mask in dotted decimal notation. The program will work on Windows 7, however parts of the GUI are (cosmetically) messed up. No support for IPv6. Copyright Snapfiles.com

Limits subnet masks to classes abandoned in the early 1990s. Often leaves out the first subnet from the list of possible subnets. No support because it's free, but there are plenty of free subnet calculators that WILL fix their bugs when reported. If you're using this freebie while deciding if you should pay for any of their other products, consider this an example of their work and a caveat. I'm giving it 1 star because SnapFiles doesn't offer 0 stars as a choice. showShow review details

We've been using this in network classes for several years. Once you know this tool, you're unlikely to use others. And the best of all: you can use this on PC as well as on PDA, so you'll never be left to manual binary calculations any more... showShow review details
