software based failover solution Simple Failover is a software based failover solution, that monitors your HTTP, FTP, SMTP, POP3, NNTP or IMAP server(s) continuously, and can dynamically update DNS records in case a server becomes unavailable. This allows you to quickly redirect traffic to a secondary server and minimize downtime - of course, this requires that you do have a secondary server location. The DNS records can be updated directly via DNS protocol (optionally using encrypted signatures for security), WMI, HTTP based dynamic IP updates, or via custom scripting. Simple Failover can also send email notifications when problems are detected, an maintains a detailed log of all activity. Additional features include EventLog integration, Windows Service, support for DNS Round Robin load balancing and more.
