find duplicate or similar images SimilarImages is an advanced tool for finding duplicate or similar images on your computer. The program can scan one or more folder locations and find similar pictures based on several different scan methods. You can adjust the sensitivity by setting a threshold value that determines how much alike images need to be in order to be considered similar.Once the program has finished scanning your image folders, it presents you with a side-by-side view of all similar images along with their size, date and other properties. You can then choose to delete one of the files (or both) or replace one with the other. SimilarImages also offers some complex options for semi-automated deletion that allows you to automatically delete duplicate files based on their file date, size or resolution.The program stores all image information in a database and even keeps track of your not-a-duplicate decisions, making subsequent searches significantly faster. In my opinion, this is the best image duplicate finder there is. I've used many and gave up over time due to having so many that were, simply put, NOT a match to an image. Others with preview have in the past, made the preview to look just like the supposed matched image, yet when deleted, it was a different image. Very untrustworthy. Some were good but lacked speed or options. Along comes SimilarImages. It has an extremely easy to use interface that anyone can understand, has side by side "trustworthy" preview, plus a host of previews on the side when more than one duplicate is found. You can then choose to see the images in the side by side by simply clicking on them. You have the option to delete on demand as well. There is another feature, "Threshold", where you can adjust the value of when pictures will be deemed similar. There is also the auto delete feature (which obviously requires caution) but if you know you have duplicate files, but scattered, you have numerous options to auto delete these files, by size, date, etc... I have 20,000 pictures and this... this is EXACTLY what I was waiting for, the BEST duplicate image finder out there. showShow review details
