Scott`s Gmail Alert enables you to monitor up to 5 Gmail accounts and get notified when new mail arrives. The program runs in the system tray and displays a pop-up list with new messages, including their subject and an excerpt of the message content. You can configure different colors for each account and also set custom colors for messages from specific senders. In addition to email notification, the program can also alert you of events that have been recorded in your Google Calendar, and it includes a basic RSS reader to monitor Google news streams and/or an RSS feed of your choice. Other features include support for sending messages through your Gmail account (without having to use the web interface), sound notifications, customizable alert settings and more.
