RSScrawler is a newsfeed reader that retrieves RSS and ATOM feeds and displays them in a ticker tape along the top or bottom of your desktop. You can customize the ticker color and font settings and choose to auto-hide the ticker when it is not being used. RSSCrawler supports up to 2 parallel ticker tapes that are adjustable in speed. The program comes with a few generic sample feeds and you can add your own or import an OPML file.
Pros: Allows you to stay updated without having to manually check your feeds.
Cons: No control over feed update times; ticker cannot be manually scrolled; no authentication support; no keyword alerts; very basic features
