remote web access for iTunes
pulpTunes is an open source web server that enables you to access and play your iTunes library remotely from any computer on the network. There is nothing to install on the remote computers, simply use your browser to access the pulpTunes web interface. The server uses ths iTunes XML library file as a source for the music content and does not require iTunes to be running. pulpTunes offers an easy to use web interface that offers media playback controls and allows you to search for songs by keyword or genre and also lets you add tracks to the iTunes DJ list.
Pros: Easy to use and install, no tech knowledge needed; iTunes does not need to be running
Cons: No security options; limited search capabilities; no options to exclude content from web access
